RE: Too Many Options

You test all earpieces and annoy the shopkeeper

😂😂😂 That's a good one.

I've to say that, we all been there. But, the "pretend to leave" thing, not everyone does that the same. Sometimes the storekeepers sense when someone is leaving for real, or if they're bluffing.

Thanks for passing by,

😊 Shopkeeper sense here is different, and even if they know, they wouldn't want you to leave, especially if there's still a little gain on the price you're bargaining to. Every market I've visited has more than one local gadget store, so the only time they don't respond is when they truly make no gain, plus if they know you might find it at that price elsewhere.

Reminds me of the time I was actually broke and I went to a random close by shop to get mosquito coil - mosquito aren't my thing, and it's always been star wars between us😂. The shop owner, she was like, "It's 600, you this boy, you will see I'm not cheating you, go and price it somewhere else." She was serious and was frowning, so I left with an "okaaay oo, let me just check around". I went to a shop that sells at almost wholesale price and told them I wanted one - it was just 300. When I went back, she was speechless and didn't know what to say. The next time I went to her shop to get same item cos the other shop wasn't around, she sold it 400 to me which was still fair enough to me😂. There's competition here, and I love that.

Hahaha.. That's funny. I guess, the lady in that store had a margin in her mind that she wants to stick to. Maybe, she changed her mind after what happened. LOL

Yeah, when one goes to local market and shops, they'd need to bargain a lot. Unlike, large stores, where they've the price labelled on everything before hand. In local markets, so many people are buying the same thing for a different amount of money.😂

😊 Yup, prices vary wildly here! My phone cord is 3k in school, 2k near home, and 1.5k in the market - and I haven't even started bargaining with the real market women 😁. Still figuring out how to use my mum's charm 😂. I avoid big stores when I know the price won't be in my favour, unlike when I was in Lagos cos big stores were better there.
Big stores is for rich people here

Yeah, it differs from a place to another. At some places, the local market has a lot of products that you cannot be sure about their quality.

Yes,
It's always a big drag to know which is better in terms of quality in a local market. Here we just pick gadgets by specific brands in well visited shops. We also ask but we do most of our findings before thinking of coming.
You can know some good quality foods with eyes and touch.( Most shops sell multiple products and your just left to check well and choose something)

It's best to choose very carefully where you invest your money; times of bankruptcy sometimes make us bolder when faced with necessity.
