I was hoping for a manual to help me keep the extraordinary boredom at bay. A sort of step-by-step guide to making sure I don’t lift a finger.

Watching television isn’t an option, as there’s no cable or satellite dish to pick up a signal. There’s no laptop either, and since watching is also an activity, it’s better to stare into space and, above all, not count the fireflies on the ceiling.
They won’t have long to live, as they’ll be fighting mosquitoes. Fortunately, there’s still plenty of kerosene for that. Thor won’t be bothered by them, at any rate. He has found eternal rest, and his grave has now been strewn with the dried blossoms of the acacia trees, thanks to the wind.

We are since long out of potatoes and the salt left is to disinfect wounds. Snow and ice will no longer be removed with it.

A bag of syrup from the Covid era is still standing in the hallway. It’s far too tiring to move it anywhere else. Who knows, it might one day serve as a wasp trap.

I saw that two pelicans have pooped on the car again, but washing and repairing cars doesn’t fit into the schedule of boredom. Incidentally, there are now two fewer pelicans (after all, the wolves need to eat too).

The last sketch has been erased with hairspray, thereby proving that it was pointless to invest time in drawing anything.
