The ugly sketchbook still exists and I've almost filled it up. It's actually a book with blank pages that I found in my son's desk. Since he doesn't use it anymore, I draw in it and try things out. I actually want to fill it up within two weeks. Meanwhile, the empty books are piling up, along with anything else I could use as a sketchbook, including old-fashioned photo albums.
I also make sketches and try things out on loose sheets of paper, simply because then I use the same type of paper that the original drawing or painting will be done on. This isn't always convenient because I sometimes lose things among the piles; at the moment, space is a bit of a problem.

Yesterday, I started sketching fish because I received a request, but I didn't really feel like doing it because it takes so much time. I'm not very good at sketching, so that takes a lot of time too. I also try to keep myself busy by drawing hair and following certain artists, watching instructional videos and trying out tips.

Sharpening pastel pencils isn't easy, even though Faber Castell Pitt is one of the harder types of pencil, but I feel like after sharpening it twice, the sharpener is already quite blunt. It turned out not to be blunt when I picked it up after washing up. I cut my thumb and although I felt it, I didn't see any blood at the time. It appeared when I picked up my ugly sketchbook. There's a smear of blood right in front of a fish's nose. I couldn't get it off. Now there's a smear that looks a lot like ice cream. Too bad, but so be it. Let's just say it's not called an ugly sketchbook for nothing.

You can see the stain, but it's a sketchbook, so it's okay. YOU take better care of the wound.

It' ls a pity and in a way annoying but it is as it is (annoying LOL).

Don't worry, it's what I do. I stay home most of the time 😉
