RE: CCC Photography Contest: Me And My Shadow Week #18

in CCC3 months ago

Finally, I closed the hidden attic. It took a while to clean the mess left by??? No, not the house gnomes and it wasn't me either.
It took me 9 years to have a look and discover that once someone used it for an extra room and why not?

The place is as big as the entire 2nd store where 3 tiny bedrooms can be find and a shower cel.

I will not be able to be there frequently since as you can see there's no normal entry and the ladder is way too short. At least I could clean out the boxes as we moved and remove them from the basement where I can sit in peace and will store what I might need more frequently.

The ladder turns out to be eaten by longhorn beetle and I treated the wood yesterday in the shed. I will next plaster and stain the wood, but for now it has to stay out.

I was just thinking, who lived there, and then I read (the beetle). The question is:¿ what did it eat? Well, if it stayed so long, it must have been eating. You should check your pantry , I'm sure you're missing something, hahaha.

The interesting thing is I never saw that beetle. I assume it lives outside or in the shed where the ladder is since years.

No need to check the pantry since it doesn't exist. With me in most cases everything is always empty or just eaten and not by beetles.

Maybe it was just coming there to sleep, what nerve, that beetle is too bold.

Those spaces are fascinating, and the shadow cast by the ladder is a hint of the shadows that may be hidden in that attic. I hope you can recover the ladder and that it doesn't contaminate any other part of your house.

Esos espacios son fascinantes y la sombra de la escalera es un indicio de las sombras que pueden haber quedado ocultas en ese desván. Espero que puedas recuperar la escalera y no contamine ningún otro elemento de tu casa.

I took the ladder back to the shed, the place where it was during the past years. Two days later someone borrowed me a spray to kill the larvae inside. The spots I used it are no longer soft but as hard as stone.
The next step is to plastering the affected parts. Afterthat I will varnish the entire ladder once the rain stopped.

I think it's worth the effort.

The ladder, in addition to being useful, is beautiful and that it is now affected by those larvae does not mean that you have to leave it aside. Wood is a noble material! If she is sick, she will help her recover and continue with you later. A great story can arise from your experience.

When we have houses with many spaces, over time, a few square meters are enough for us: a room is ideal for us, hehe.

Cuando tenemos casas con muchos espacios, con el tiempo, nos es suficiente pocos metros cuadrados: un cuarto nos resulta ideal, jeje.

I wish i had that room. Easy to heat and to clean, no draft. I still share 😕

It's amazing

Hiw's the ladder?

Kind of forgotten in the shed. I should make a note to repair the parts eaten by...
