I understand that. As a child I also didn't like little pieces into food, no matter if it was a dessert or pue or sometging else (marmelade). It always made me gag.

I don't know why I wasn't like that, but my kids also hate small pieces of ice cream.

Mine never liked ice cream they had to learn to eat it. People found it weird but I have the same. It's just not what I like. Same for ice cubes in my drink or this shaved ice with lemonade.
I also don't like little pieces in cake or pie of dried fruit or something. I think it just irritates my throat and the youngest has the same. We both also find bread hard to swallow.
