That's what I noticed too, especially at birthdays. If the woman is celebrating she's only serving her guests and at the end of the day she can clean up alone (a good reason to NOT celebrate). LOL
In our society, it is considered wrong to make men do work, especially involving men in household chores, but I want to do something different from my society, which is why I keep my husband and son busy with me so that no one person has to do any work and they don't feel like a burden.

Strange... Cooking, cleaning, doing the dishes, sewing clothes are house chorus, but at the same time professions many men have from chef cook, to tailor, world famous designers! The same counts for doctors! They have to be able to use a needle, pair of scissors. I always tell my son: no woman likes a lazy man, since that is what it is: laziness.
Who doesn't work, doesn't eat, also counts for house chorus.
It's hard to raise an adult man next to a child, but you for sure have a better, more close family where everyone does his share and knows what to do if you get ill. This is important.

It is a waste of time to persuade a lazy person to do any kind of work. It is better to do the work yourself than to ask someone who is not used to working. My effort is always to make every child, whether small or big, get used to working. So that when they grow up and have to do more big things, they do not have to face any kind of trouble or discomfort. This is the reason why sometimes when I fall ill, there is no pile of work in the house. Rather, everyone shares the work together. And there is no bitterness in the atmosphere of the house.
