RE: Happy farewells ~ Despedidas felices
Actually, the word "farewell" is more than just goodbye. To me it feels as if you will never meet that person again.

Thanks a lot, it's great to learn this different meanings of words, I guess that in Spanish we don't have a specific word for definitive farewell. Thanks a lot for your support ☺️🙏
And a happy new year in case we don't chat later because will be a busy day for everyone 😊
I once read that the average Dutch person uses 17,000 words while this amount is what the high educated Engels person uses. This means it does depend on the language what a word means. It will be hard to "feel" the true essence of a word.
For example bye is shortcut for goodbye but not farewell, at least it isn't to me.
I am not too busy, to me it's just another day only longer or actually not if I take last night into account.
Have fun and stay safe.
Mmm 17000 sounds too much... I should investigate which is the Spanish average amount of words used, I feel it will be very few since the popularized use of the word "cosa" (thing) as replacement of many specific word 😆
Thanks a lot and enjoy your longer day and rest a little more 😆
That's interesting. I guess ww have different shades of each word to reflect the tiniest feeling. 😁
Yes, I think so... What I notice is that we as society are loosing vocabulary , or maybe just changing for new terms.
