RE: My Neighbor Adolf (2022)
First, I would like to clarify something: Adolf Hitler was not German, but Austrian. If you look at history, you will encounter many strange figures from Austria.
In any case, in our country, you are not allowed to give your child any name you want. It's not that there is a limited list of names, as seems to be the case in some countries, but not every name is allowed and it is up to the registrar who registers the child to decide whether or not the name is allowed. As a parent, you have little say in the matter.
To be honest, I think that many of those Nazis or people who were in the government or helped at the time were simply directed by others, and even towards the end of the war, when they knew they were going to lose, these people were helped to continue their lives elsewhere. The lesser Nazis may have been convicted, but many of them were not, because it simply took years and years, or because they were only found many years later, by which time they were old and sick and blah blah blah, and so they were able to escape punishment. Not that I agree, because everyone gets old, you know that in advance, and those who were the victims couldn't escape anything either, for them there was nothing to forget, they still live with the wounds and the consequences, because let's be honest, there are still victims of the Second World War, of the concentration camps, and not only because of the war with Germany; Japan is also a very good example. Strangely enough, no one talks about what Japan did. Strange, the Western media apparently believed that only certain countries are always wrong, while others are right. Why Paraguay or other countries? Maybe life was just safer there, less in the spotlight...
Nazisme always been alive and they are rewarded very well.
Yeah, that it's the most ironic fact! He wasn't the perfect ario man, and as you said, was austriac but was convincent enough to make that all Germany followed him.
If we are going to talk about criminally acts the list is very very long, and UK is on the top but nobody talks about what they did in all the world.
Paraguay was the perfect site to hind people, and still is! The fact that the name Adolf Hitler could be registered is a sign that here we haven't very smarts public officials 😆

To be honest, I understand very well why people followed Adolf Hitler and his ideas. Unlike other politicians, he not only made promises but also delivered on some of them, and at that time the country was in a major crisis. No work, poverty, you name it. It's not much different from what's happening in many countries today. In that respect, history certainly repeats itself. And when there's no way out, everyone is happy to have a saviour, someone who keeps his word. Incidentally, I've read his book and think it's well written.
I believe that all countries have a past, whether it be slavery, plundering, the tedium of hatred, the abuse of others; no people can escape it. I recently read about what the Danes did to the Inuit, the inhabitants of Greenland, including inserting coils into young girls so that the population would not increase. Many girls and young women suffered unbearable pain and bleeding and did not know what was causing it. This was and is the case in many countries: always castrating, sterilising, raping, mistreating, abusing, murdering the minority... And covering it up.
What I cannot understand is why people want a savior if history has shown us that caudillos (strongmen) only look after their own interests.
