I wonder if this will be the case now internet will be firbidden for children underneath a certain age, not to mention the lack of electricity and wifi for the common person in the nearest future.
Those older most like already yrained their btains and are able to think and hopefully, use wisely. This besides of the fact they most likely speak more than one language.
Your comment reminded me of something I read a while ago. It is interesting to note that some of the very people who have helped shape our digital world have been particularly cautious about their children’s exposure to technology. Steve Jobs restricted his children’s use of technology at home, and Bill Gates, too, set strict rules on screen time and smartphone use. Perhaps knowing a tool very well also means knowing when to keep a certain distance from it.

What strikes me most is that this article dates back to 2017. Almost ten years have passed. In the meantime, almost an entire generation has grown up. What were we waiting for? Confirmation of what we already suspected before we seriously asked ourselves whether teenagers should have unlimited access to tools designed to capture and hold their attention?
One of the most interesting questions today is how these new generations are developing their critical thinking skills whilst growing up immersed in these systems. Perhaps we should have asked ourselves this question much sooner.
Come to think of it, I remember that when I was a child, I was only allowed to watch television for no more than an hour a day. Of course, I would have liked to watch it for longer, but that was the rule. No ifs, ands or buts. 👋
