In Weeks 1 and 2 we have covered the theme with an outline of the learning. Designing Lesson Plans and also Micro Teaching. This week we will shift gears a bit with a new theme, Educational Management.

Educational Management

In simple terms, educational management is a skill in organizing a school or educational institution to achieve educational goals.

Educational management aims to improve the quality of education and create a conducive learning environment. It sounds simple, but it's actually a tough task.

Education management has several main functions that become a reference, including:

Planning	Developing a strategic plan, determining goals, and setting steps to achieve them.
Organizing	Developing an organizational structure, dividing tasks, and establishing work relationships.
Directing	Leading, directing, and motivating staff to achieve set goals.
Emplementing	Implementation of everything that has been compiled and planned regarding the policies of educational institutions.
Controlling	Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the plan, and making improvements if necessary.

Educational management is needed especially for a principal or senior teacher to organize the teaching and learning process properly in a school or educational institution.

Schools with good educational management will provide good educational services for all students. In the long run, it will be able to affect the growth rate of an area.

Homework

Choose a real case of education management in a school or educational institution that you have experienced or know about, then:

1. Describe the case.

2. Identify the managerial problems that occurred.

3. Analyze the causes using the education management functions that we have known before.

4. What do you think is the right solution to the problem?
