SEC | S19W4: "Active and Fun Teaching Strategies"
Welcome to the Steemit Engagement Challenge for season 19, Week 4.
An educational psychologist once said that, be a teacher who is always awaited by students, be a teacher who is liked by students, be a teacher who can make students feel at home in your lessons. Not a teacher who is hated or prayed to die quickly, cruel isn't it.
An active and fun class can be easily created if we know how the strategy is, therefore at the week 4 meeting we will discuss how active and fun teaching strategies.
Based on our knowledge and experience, an active class can be created if the teacher conducts teaching activities by inviting students to discuss or more often do question and answer activities, teachers who lecture too much will feel boring to hear.
An active class can also be created through group work activities, group work activities encourage students to be actively involved. Group work activities can run effectively if the teacher explains in detail what tasks must be carried out by each student. The tasks given must be easy to understand and easy to do so that students will be more enthusiastic in completing them.
In addition to these two things, learning while teaching or learning with peers is known to help increase student activeness in learning, because sometimes a student is embarrassed and reluctant to ask the teacher directly. In addition, smarter students can also continue to hone their knowledge.
Based on our knowledge and experience, the more fun a teaching and learning activity is, the easier the knowledge will be transferred into the student's brain. Teaching and learning activities will be more fun if the teacher is able to design learning materials while playing, your creativity is needed here.
Singing or yelling is also believed to make the classroom atmosphere more fun, if you don't have a special yell you can invite your students to sing folk songs or national songs in your country.
In addition to the two things above, being humorous to your students is believed to make the classroom atmosphere more fun, students will always focus on hearing the funny sentences that will happen next, but this is not good if done excessively. If you can't be humorous you can tell a funny story that you remember.
1. When teaching, what steps will you use to create an active and fun classroom atmosphere?
2. What were the results after you implemented these steps, were the students actively involved and happy following your lesson?
3.In your opinion, what are the weaknesses and strengths of the strategies you have used?
