Teacher's Day Reflection, Teaching challenges in the digital age

Teachers' Day is a special moment that should be celebrated with a variety of interesting activities, but on the other hand teachers need to complete a number of homework that is a challenge in itself in order to achieve a great hope.

On September 26, 2024 we at school carried out ceremonial activities to commemorate the 79th National Teacher's Day. If the ceremony officers are usually students, but on this day the ceremony officers were carried out by all teachers, this is a unique historical moment every year.

I myself got the task of being the leader of the flag ceremony, in my opinion being the leader of the flag ceremony is an easy thing because when I was in school I was often the leader of the ceremony.

But the most difficult task is when becoming a red and white flag bearer, flag bearers must step forward from their place to the flagpole. Then they must carry out the hoisting accompanied by the national anthem Indonesia Raya.

Every movement of the flag bearers must be simultaneous and show a broken motion. Of course, the teachers at our school had practiced a few days before the day of the flag ceremony.

Before the ceremony began that morning the weather looked very cloudy and drizzly, but we had agreed to continue carrying out the ceremony activities even though it was raining very heavily. This shows our national commitment and love for the country.

The ceremony began, the protocol read the order of the ceremony and the officers carried it out in accordance with the order that had been read. It was the turn of the master of ceremonies to deliver the mandate, I gave the signal to all ceremony participants to carry out the movement of rest in place.

In his mandate, headmaster conveyed several important messages related to national teacher's day, in short, the moment of national teacher's day must be an effort for teachers to continue to improve their professional teaching skills.

Over time, teachers are required to be able to carry out teaching tasks by utilizing digital media and technology, therefore currently schools are required to be able to innovate by opening digital classes where the entire learning process must be carried out using certain applications using technological devices.

So that at this time it is only natural that teachers are required to continue to improve their abilities and skills towards the use of technology, without exception including old teachers they must continue to learn.

After the ceremony was over, we along with other teachers held a series of events in the teacher's office. The event was a cake cutting by the principal which was then fed directly to one of the teachers. I had the opportunity to be the teacher representative to taste the cake that was fed directly by the principal.

Not wanting to be left behind, students and their classmates had also prepared some special surprises for their teachers. They had decorated the classroom with a number of decorations and balloons to celebrate Teacher's Day.

In addition, the class also provides a number of delicious food and drinks, small gifts, presents and flowers that students will give to their teachers.

According to the information I got, all these special gifts are the efforts of students in collecting pocket money in order to be able to give gifts and special gifts to their teachers who have been sincerely educating them, we all teachers are very touched by their efforts and participation in celebrating teacher's day.

Of course, all teachers at school are very happy and proud of what their students have done in celebrating Teacher's Day, in each class there are so many gifts that we can hardly bring home. But are the gifts given by students as a moment of celebration of teacher's day included as gratification? Let's ignore that. May God reward the students' kindness in unexpected ways. unexpected ways. Amen.
