Examination Malpractice
Hello fellow steemians. Welcome back to another week of learning. I want to thank @nsijoro for organizing this contest.
Examination malpractice is one misconduct in the academic environment that is prohibited. It is the act of using unethical means to pass an examination. It could be through going in with chips to write from, or any means of digital device to copy, or, any other means best known to a student. Some students even go as far as writing the “supposed” answers on different parts of their body than can be seen only by them.
In a more terrible way and manner, teachers assist students by writing the answers for these students on the board, or circulate chips.
Examination malpractice has become so serious that many have become dependent on it as the only means of having good grades.
I so much believe it does have its consequences. The society has made it a bit difficult for many to believe in its consequences though, but I want to believe it does, and will continue to have its consequences.
The way students over-rely on this practice has made it almost impossible for people to believe there are consequences to this thing.
Apart from being disciplined by the school authority, the bitter truth or the consequence that stands out for me is the lack of knowledge and skill we make for ourselves.
Reading is an art, in fact, it is a skill. And when one does not cultivate the habit of reading, one cannot master its art. This alone is enough consequence that can rob us of growing intellectually.
I have not, I don’t think anyone would want to admit to this though. I always felt like someone was right behind me to catch me. So that fear is one of the reasons I wouldn't want to engage in such act.
I have seen a lot of students who do this so comfortably, and the shocking part is that they always come out with good grades. It’s shocking because they not only get away with the bad act, but do well than some who even take their time to study.
- Strict measures: During an examination, the invigilators should be very strict, and stay focused. I have seen invigilators who come in to talk with the fellow invigilators which is a distraction to them. Some others can just stay in a spot while the students engage in this unhealthy practice.
- Reading habit should be encouraged: Schools and teachers should make it compulsory for students to study. They can be rewarded after answering certain questions in class. This way, students would be encouraged to study often.
In summary, no one can really be forced to study so they can abstain from this act, but some measures can be put in place to reduce the act. Examination malpractice cripples the brain and mind. Thus, deliberate efforts should be made to minimise it.
Would like to invite @ukpono, @bela90 and @sur-riti to participate in this contest.

Non appearance of a candidate in the exam hall is the biggest examination malpractice I have ever seen, I wonder how such person can defend the result, our education system need to be reform so that incoming generation will not experience this illicit act. Teachers and parents need to take appropriate measure to ensure their child take their education seriously. Thanks for sharing this important content.
Exactly!
There are students like that who miss exams but end up having very good grades.
The system really needs to be reformed as you've said.
Thank you too for your contribution.
You're welcome ma

You are right namie , examination malpractice cripples the brain añd takes away the urge to study. Yes they might have good grades but i don't believe they would be able to defend such if need be.
All in all, this is a beautiful write-up, keet it ip.
Thank you, namie.
How can we defend what we don't know?😁
A fine question, but I have no answer......
