Diary Game Season 3. A Trip To My Ancestral Home: Friday 31st/12/2021 With My Son and My Foster Son.
Hi guys, good day. I hope we all had a wonderful end of year and a beginning of another years' celebration successfully?
Welcome to my blog, sit tight and enjoy my story.
I am an Arum man, a small tribe located at Farin Ruwa Development Area from Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. Our dialect is known as LOMO. We were initially located and situated in one geographical setting, known as AMGBLA (it was a hill top), where all the seven villages of Arum settled before, and we actually migrated from BOKOS, a Local Government in the Present Plateau State. The seven Arum villages are:
- Arum Sarki (the head quarters of all the Arums)
- Arum Shua
- Arum Chini
- Arum Chugbo
- Arum Kado
- Arum
Gbomanga - Arum Tumara (my home town)
There is this particular village known as Chessu, Chessu people are also Arum speaking people, but something actually happened that made them to disconnect from being called Arum, they were all settlers from ANGBLA before they denounced been part of Arum as a result of an unsettled dispute in those days, in ages past on the AMGBLA HILL, they were the first to relocate to where they were today known as CHESSU, up till this day they refused to be known as Arum.
The dispute was as a result of a hunted wild animal that was killed, so during shearing, something went wrong (it is another story on it's own, that should be for another time), that was why they disassociated themselves with their brothers. All the names of the villages I have mentioned above are names of the Eight sons of a Man including CHESSU which makes it Eight but they refused to be identified is Arum.
On the 31st December, 2021, we embarked on a trip to our ancestral home, Myself, My foster Son John and My first Son Eric, we went to Arum Sarki that faithful day, after our morning prayers we went to the fuelling station took fuel and began our journey. The time for take off to our ancestral home was actually 9:00 o'clock am, we arrived at Arum head quarters, Arum Sarki at a good time, 8:32 am, we waited for about one and a half hour for others to meet up before we commence the trekking and hiking; it was fun, historical, for site seeing and for tourist attraction at the same time.
In every sphere of one's life you are bound to experience positive and negative experiences. I had made mention of the good side of the story already, the negative or the bad experiences we encountered are thus:
- Trekking and hiking to a mountain top is tedious.
- Insufficient drinking water and food. (Though it was an individual provision, some made provision some did not, we have to share), it was a serious challenge.
- The place was not tidied up( the cultural heritage unkept). It was not properly maintained.
- Not all the Arum villages were represented, two of the Arums where not represented.
- Not easy for old aged to climb, and most of them were actually the ones to explain to us Arum Cultural Heritage, but quite unfortunate they can't go there because of their old age.
AFTER OUR MORNING PRAYERS, SET TO TAKE OFF
REFUELLING FOR THE TRIP
AT THE VENUE AND SHOWING THE MOUNTAIN TOP TO CLIMB
CLIMBING THE MOUNTAIN
AT THE MOUNTAIN TOP, PRAYERS WERE OFFERED, CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS PRAYED TOGETHER
RECEIVING LECTURES
RETURNING BACK (CLIMBING DOWN)
ONE OF OUR ANCESTRAL HOME'S FOUNDATION, SOMEONE CLAIMING HE NEEDS TO SLEEP.
Conclusively, on the 2nd of January 2022 was the Hallmark of the event, all the Seven Arum Villages came together at Arum Sarki and showcased their Cultural dance, their wears, their food. Stake holders, prominent sons and daughters were introduced, it was a remarkable day, a memorable day of my life. I am proud be an
ARUM MAN. Thanks to steemit for the privilege to write.
