Hello fellow steemians, hope you are having a lovely day. We are in the 4th week of the steemit engagement challenge season 2 and I am here to present my post. For the week the community moderators of Steem alive thought it wise that we share our best and worst days and I am here right now to do just that. It will be just over just over 3 minutes read, I hope you enjoy it.

THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE.

I am sure if you have read one or two of my post you must have read about the current crisis that is plaguing my country Cameroon. This has led to thousands and thousands of death and more internally displayed person and most days in this part of the country are worst days. We just try to keep forging our way forward.

So let me get into my worst day proper. It was back in 2020 and I was working as an internal controller with Plan international Cameroon at the head office in Yaoundé. It was a weekend and I came to visit my parents and friends who live in Bamenda, another town and I was supposed to travel back on Sunday evening so I meet up with work.

I had travelled with a friend laptop because mine was bad and I had to do some work over the weekend but then I decided to acquire mine on a Saturday so that I could return my friends own by Monday. So on Sunday at about 3:00pm, I packed up my things in my backpack with the two laptops in it and headed for the bus station. I went a little late so I had to use Vatican express a travelling agency here in Cameroon. I paid my ticket, boarded the bus and was seated. Five minutes after I felt the urge to urinate and so I stepped out of the bus and went straight to the toilet living my backpack on my seat. I returned 10 minutes later and I couldn’t find my backpack. Ask through the agency, in the bus and everyone claim not to have seen anything wrong.

This was really sad, I had to pay my friends laptop and mine, a laptop I had barely used. All my office work was in that my friends laptop. Evidence of control documents I had done. My internal control report was useless without the backing information and it was gone.

And to worsen the day, I called my mother to report the incident to her and I instead met her crying. I asked her why she was crying and she explained to me that my uncle had been killed in the village by the separatist fighters. He had been kidnapped about 5 days earlier and was killed that day. I was a double wahala and my head was just swelling.

THE LESSON I LEARN FROM MY WORST DAY.

  1. From that day forward, I always take my backpack with me where ever I am going. I can't do the same mistake twice.
  2. Back up my information in different locations. I had not back up the information I had in those laptop. So I learned to have very important information in different locations for safety.

THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.

This day backs right back to 2018. I am not married, I have no kids so it only has to be a ceremony and what better than a ceremony celebrating success in academy. The best day of my life was the day I was backing a Master of Business administration in Accounting and Finance. It was a hell of an 7years experience which was supposed to be 5years instead.

I got into the university in 2011 and in three years I was done with university. I started my master program in 2015 and by the academy programming, it was supposed to be a 24 months course, that is 2 years. After the first year of classroom work which we saw to completion, we went on 3 months of field experience. After which we were to return to school and finish up with project by it was never possible that year because the crisis I mentioned earlier began later that year, that’s 16/10/2016 and till date.

Schools were completely suspended for some period then it timidly began. The separatist fighter didn’t want the reopening of schools, so it was difficult. So I took 4years for a program of 2 years but at the graduation I was very happy. After all the stress and trials I made it, so this was by far my best day that I can recall.

THE LESSON I LEARN FROM MY BEST DAY.

HARD WORK PAYS. It is simple, the joy I felt on that day of graduation. The feeling of fulfilment is second to none. I learned that day that patients, persistency, hardwork will always pay off at the end. We just need to keep our heads high and don't remove our eyes off the target.

CONCLUSION.

To conclude, we are creations of emotions, emotions is involved in everything we do on a daily basis and what happens to us either makes or mar us. As you can see from the post, I have had my share of terrible and happy moments but these two are the most memorable once of all. I want to thank the moderators and administration of this community, this contest served as an opportunity to work back memory lane.

For this contest, I invite @alvinj, @majerius and @chant to share their best and worst days.

Sort:

So sad about your stolen back pack. We are are expected to be very vigilant and careful regarding our items be it when we are traveling or taking a stroll. And also congratulations on your graduation from college. Greetings

Thank you for the invite friend. I will drop mine soon. One good thing about life is that no matter the matter, we learn to become better versions of who we were. You bad experience with the laptop thievery, made you to learn the hard way.

I know the frustration students go through especially during the crisis. However, we conquered it all and at the end put on a smiling face on graduation day. Good luck for your entry.

Good to read your entry @ebuahsang1 I felt touched after reading the worst day of your life.Imagine losing two laptops and other important files within 10 mins couped with the killing of your relative by bandits.

The happiness you got on the day you bagged your Master's degree was glaring on your face.It was indeed a good experience and a motivation to all.

The most painful 😖 part is you losing everything including your friends laptop. Chaaaaaiii If I'm the one I can go made bro. I'm so so sorry for this your painful lost. This is why when ever I see how they are beating up a thief, I won't react or feel sorry for the hardened criminal because I have also lost alot in their hands

The best day of my life was the day I was backing a Master of Business administration in Accounting and Finance. It was a hell of an 7years experience which was supposed to be 5years instead.

Losing two things at the same day, death of your Uncle and the lost of your backpack. That has taught you a very big lessons of carefulness. Seems Cameron crises is more than Nigeria own? God help us in this trouble world.

You took a cause of 2 years for 4 years due to crises. What matters now is that you have graduated. Congratulations to you.

life is like a coin, it has two sides, we all at a point face different challenges, how we overcome is our pride, the good thing is that you graduated in flying colours but loosing your back pack and the death if your uncle is a double shot to you, a shot and a rebounce shot😄

Waouh brother, what an amazing post. When someone steals my stuff all i do is smile and take it to God. That day must have been real tough massa.
The university of Bamenda too is another drama. A 5year course becoming a 7years course because of some bla bla bla. Anyway we bless God for the lesson of life🙏🏾

I'll try to post mine too, though i don't think i can remember a best or worst day😅

Ateyu. The university of Bamenda and their unnecessary drama.

It's nice to not remember a worst day. It means God I'd guiding your part. Thank you for the comments

It is frustrating and heartbreaking to lose a device especially laptop and phone which you use for office work. Sorry for the death of your uncle, I know it will not be easy for you to bear those loses that very day.
Strike action and crisis had crippled most Africa countries educational system and it is frustrating for students.

Congratulations dear friend on all your wins, it just so sad that insecurity caused by our bad government has caused a lot of problems to our youth and family at large.

My your uncle soul rest in peace 🕊️
