Friends, I welcome you all once again to this wonderful contest organised by the @steemalive community on the topic titled The Worst day and the best day of your life. The engagement challenge as we can see is quite very interesting and educative as we learn more on daily basis. I am so happy for the opportunity given to me to be in participating in this amazing contest today.

Everyone in life has a remarkable day that he or she will always have in mind despite the number of days or years he or she might have lived. Some of this remembrance might be because of something good that happens or it can be something terrible that happens. My case is not different because I have a similar experience and in this post, I'm going to explain my most memorable days both the best and the worst. So feel free and read through my post till the end so that you will get the full gist.

The Worst day of my life

The worst day of my life is the 22nd day of May 2010, a day before Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost was the next day being 23 May 2010. I couldn't forget this date because of the experience I had on this very day. I woke up as early as possible on that very day because as an altar servant in the church and being in the body house we have to do the entire activities in the church to prepare for the celebration. I attend our Kings Catholic secondary school located in Obudu a local government area in Cross River State Nigeria.

Now the big question is how did this day become my worst day and what caused it to be my worst day. The answer is simple. When the bell rang, we are supposed to run out of the hostile and assemble ourselves in the hall where we normally go for morning devotion before any other announcement will be made. But on this faithful day, the bell rang and before we could go out the house masters appeared in our hostile asking about the people who broke the fence of the hostile.

I was surprised because the fence of the building is very tall and I don't think anyone could jump through the fence. Every one of us started saying sir I'm not the person, sir I'm not the person. So they took us all to see the fence. On reaching the point, we saw the fence with a lot of scratches and a few parts on the ground and one of the student's shirts were seen at the fence as he tried to escape. It's a white shirt and every student has as many as possible.

When we saw this we knew that that very day will be tough because they have to dig the truth no matter the cost. We were taken to the punishment ground that morning and we were asked to sleep on the ground facing the sun. We were like that for about 3 hours and after that, we all were taken to gravel to crawl on our knees. At this point, everyone started crying because the pain became unbearable.

My case was the worst that day because I was the hostile captain. I was asked who came back with a tore cloth that very evening but I couldn't provide the person so my punishment became double. When all other students were freed, I was still held under punishment. My entire knees pealed, and I saw blood coming out and I cried even more. After much punishment, a student named Samuel Akpan came and said he is the person.

That was when I was freed and when he was interrogated on why he went to jump the fence he said it is his father that forced him to come to this school and that he wants to leave because he is tired. He only agreed to it because I have suffered a lot and he felt telling the truth at that point is the only thing that could free me. That is what happens on that faithful day.

The best day of my life is the day I joined this noble platform I.e the 23rd day of January 2021. I have always wanted to make my own money but I don't have an idea how to go about it. On this faithful day, after been introduce to the platform, I wrote my introductory post and I was so happy I was able to write my article after being guided by my mentor @simonnwigwe. He said and I quote "Seven days from now you will be able to cash out your earnings". To me, it was surprising because I asked myself how can this be possible but since I saw proof of his cash out I decided to give it a trial as well.

On the 30th day of the same month, the post paid out and I was able to make my first withdrawal. There is this joy I felt because for the very first time I made money of my own. I decided to go to the market on that day and I get fresh fish. I brought it home and everyone was sunrise because that is also the first time I bought something and brought it to the house. I told my mother how I got the money and the reason I bought the fish.

I just wanted to eat what I bought with my money alongside my family for the very first time. My mum was excited and she also urged me to put in more effort and learn it provided it is a legal way of making money. I promised her that I will do my best. I feel so fulfilled on that very day.

Conclusion

Everyone has some days that he feels are either his best days or his worst days. I have had some terrible experiences just like the one I stated above and in the same way, I have some memorable days which I can never forget. My experience with the steemit platform is one I can never forget in a hurry. I wish to invite @chenty, @olabillions and @yakspeace to also read through my blog.

Wow.Good to hear that joining Steemit was the best day of your life and you cashed out your first earnings within 7 days.Thats juicy.

The punishment you recieved was painful even though Akpan was culpable for the offence.I feel for you.I just feel that Akpan should be made to take ten times the pains you guys passed through.
