The negative effects of electricity you mentioned are in line. I've seen people die untimely due to electric shock. One incident I witnessed happened few years ago along Opobo Road, a young man, an electrician was electrocuted when he went to connect light for a customer.
Most of the fire outbreaks we see and hear that happened in the marketplaces were caused by sparks from electric connections.
