INTRODUCTION

Good day great steemians. It has always been my pleasure writing and saving some memories here on steemit. My name is @patienceotis and welcome to my blog. My diary game today will be about my city's transportation system.

I live in makurdi benue state and here we have four major transportation system. We have the bus, tricycle called keke, bike called okada and bolt. But today I will writing the two major transportation system here in makurdi.

TWO COMMON MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION, OPERATION AND HOW THEY ARE BEING MANAGED

The two common means of transportation in my city is

1 BIKE commonly known as okada.

HOW THEY OPERATE

Bike's here operate from the early hours of the morning till 8pm. But some bike stay till late hours and if they get caught they will be arrested and their sized by the authorities.

Bike's is the second cheap means of transportation. Unlike the bolt and tricycle (keke). Before a drop is 50naira but now due to increase in fuel a drop is now 100naira. The price varies due to your destination

HOW THEY ARE BEEN MANAGED

Bike's here in makurdi are run by individuals and also private sectors. Some bike owners use their bike as a source of income. this individual carry passengers from a location to their destination. While others sectors get the bikes and shared it to individuals, they will ride the bikes and then give report. From the daily income determines what they get as salary

HOW THEY OPERATE

Here in makurdi bus is the cheapest means of transportation compared to other means of transportation. No matter how far your destination is with 100naira you can go anywhere here in makurdi.

HOW THEY ARE BEING MANAGED

Bus management system is the same as bike management system. Mostly bus are owned by private sector but a little bit individuals are into it.

MAINTENANCE; This is also carried out the owners, the individuals and the private sectors.

RATIO OF ACCIDENT

From my experience and my years of being in makurdi accident happens more with bikes than buses and it's FATAL. If we are to rate the percentage of accident between buses and bikes here in makurdi over 100%. Bike's will 85% while the buses will be 15%.

HOW ARE THE VICTIMS TAKEN CARE OF; Well makurdi is a city where everyone is like mind your own business and that's very bad. Accident victims are treated and taken care of by their families. But at times if the bus or bike owners is a good person they get to pay for the treatment.

CONCLUSION

My preferred means of transportation is bolt. Though it's the most expensive means of transportation here in makurdi. But it's better and safe. It takes you directly to your desired destination.
