Hygiene can be seen as activities or practices that promotes or sustains health. It could involve taking care of our body, our environment, including the water and food we eat. There are plenty of things which one can do on a daily basis to promote good hygiene. Let me list some of them.

Ways we can maintain Hygiene

Taking our bath atleast twice a day is one step towards living a hygienic lifestyle.When we wash our body with water, soap and sponge, it would look clean and free from germs.

Another way is brushing our teeth regularly atleast every morning. We chew with our mouth and there are chances that food particles will clog on the teeth, so brushing the teeth helps to clean up those dirts thus giving the individual a fresh breath.

Cleaning of our houses and surrounding is still part of hygiene. Household refuse and dirts if allowed in the surrounding can pollute the air we breathe and so can cause sickness. Therefore, it is important we get rid of refuses and dirty materials in our environment.

Ways people neglect Hygiene

People neglect hygiene by not taking their bath, not brushing their teeth, not washing their clothes and hands properly, not disposing refuses and eating dirty or contaminated food.

Consequences of neglecting Hygiene

A lot of negative things can happen when hygiene is neglected. Some of the things are:

Bad breath:
When an individual does not practice oral hygiene by brushing his/her teeth regularly, it would result in bad breath- a situation where the mouth smells and people won't like to listen to what the person is saying.

Sickness:
Poor hygiene can lead to sickness. When an individual allows refuse to liter the environment. It would lead to air pullution and thus can make people living around to fall sick.

There are other consequences of maintaining a poor hygiene buy because of time, I won't talk about them at the moment.

My Oral and Body Hygiene

As for my oral and bathing regime. I take my bath twice a day which is morning and night. Then in terms of oral hygiene, I brush twice a day but I don't use the same toothpaste. I try to use two different types of toothpaste for personal reasons. However, if I am going for a function in the afternoon, it means I would brush three times that particular day.

I believe hygiene is an age long activity. Even our forefathers practiced hygiene too. They use chewing stick to observe oral hygiene, they dump refuses at the farm or forest, they wash their clothes and practice virtually every act of cleanliness. In this modern dispensation, hygiene is still been practiced by brushing, bathing, cleaning the surroundings, eating clean food, purifying the water we drink and washing our plates and other utensils.

Honestly I must say that this one of the best quality post I have read on steemalive. I am not surprised when I noticed that he is a teacher. Probably a teacher of English language. Keep it up. I commended the writer for the following reasons:
First, his English is good and flows smoothly. I observed less grammatical errors. Infact , most writers here are good content developers but present their work in wrong English with mistakes. Mistakes are bound to occur and the condition under which we write here does not give us room to get friends to proof read our work before posting, but all the same let us try to reduce the errors to the barest minimum like @samuel in this post
Finally, this kind of work should not be married by spelling errors . There are a few of them. As a matter of fact they are the errors am talking about.Always read your work repeatedly to avoid or reduce it your subsequent work. Thank you and good luck.

If you have a cold or flu, you should also remember to wash your hands more often to prevent the spread of germs.

Personal hygiene is very important for all aspects of your life. It is important to keep your body clean and smelling fresh, in order to keep yourself healthy.

You see bad breath is a very bad disease and some people don't know they can develop it as a result of lack of personal hygiene, in most cases huge amount of money is spent in other to treat mouth odor.

I aggre with you personal hygiene is very important because it contributes to our good health.

In order to properly maintain personal hygiene, it is important to shower or bathe at least twice a day. There are many different ways to take a shower, from taking a warm bath to using a shower head.

no matter how busy you are always make sure you take care of your body and you have to make sure that you bath regular every day to prevent your self from being sick and thank you for sharing sharing with with us .

It is also important for personal hygiene to take care of your skin by moisturizing and applying sunscreen.

Body hygiene is very important for a healthy living.

Yes, hygiene involves anything that has to do with cleanliness of our body and environment.

There are certain hygiene practices which should be performed every day, such as washing your hands before you eat or cook, and brushing your teeth after every meal. These are just a few examples of how you can maintain personal hygiene. The more you practice personal hygiene, the better your health will be.

I brush twice a day but I don't use the same toothpaste. I try to use two different types of toothpaste for personal reasons. However, if I am going for a function in the afternoon, it means I would brush three times that particular day.

I never think of this, personally, I do change my toothbrush or migrate to a new one every 3 months. But, though,you said it's personal, please can you educate me on the importance of using 2 different toothbrush same day?
