Preamble.

“ The invisible hand of tragedy extends its frontiers of influence, randomly among men, without due negotiation, however, the invincible sofa of mercy, does always cushion the effect of the tempest, and gives gratifying succor.”

After having worked tediously for the day’s job as a writer, Poet, and house builder, I attended the routine Bible study conference, on Wednesday evening, precisely at 5pm (GMT+1), on April 20th, 2022.

THE TORRENTIAL RAIN.

While in the Church for the Bible study conference, the clouds were darkened, saturated with moisture, heavily loaded with an explosive torrential rain; accompanied by series of lightning, and thunderous outbursts.
The sounds it produced were deafening, that the congregants in the Bible study, couldn’t hear the voice of the teacher of the Bible anymore. Then in a split second, came the torrential outpouring of the rain, and it came with a rushing whirlwind.

EFFECTS OF THE HEAVY DOWNPOUR.

The roof of the Church cathedral, was in a fierce battle against the whirlwind, we (the Bible study attendants) could hear vividly the echoes of sounds of survival it produced, as it struggled and battled to remain fixed in the anchor bolts and nails, to avoid been forcefully pulled off, by the evil claws of the tempestuous wind.

The Church premises and its entire neighborhood, were saturated with high velocity rushing flood, it was like the Japanese tsunami, and it has the capacity to move the Solomon’s temple from its original location, Jerusalem to a far distant Jericho.

We in the Church were in great torment and panic, because the members of our biological anatomy, were jittering, shaking profusely and lamenting, as the onslaught of the stinging cold, descended on our entire system.
Suffice it to say that, the incident reminded me of the Noah’s day of universal disaster, when the entirety of the Earth, were engulfed in the astronomical flooding as prophesied, except the floating Noah’s Ark.

It was about 8:pm (GMT+1), that the rain subsided and I took off from the Church, embarked on the long trekking to my house. I was greeted by frowning molecules of flood, at various places in the city of Aba, and by telepathy, it seemed like they petitioned the road contractors, constructing the roads for the Aba New Mapping Schemes, for withholding them in the water jars of heaven, for a long time.

THE TRADEGY THAT STRUCK MY HOUSE.

From a distance, I could sight my house which is located at Number 86A, Aja Road Aba, Abia State, and it was like the entire building was floating on water, some parts of the roof had pulled off as a result of the whirlwind and flooding. I have to pull off my shoe, folded my trouser upwards, getting ready for the tasks of swimming and singing, yeah, I have to give thanks to the Abba Father, in all things.

I met members of my family with buckets, scooping the water that invaded the house. The entire compound and rooms were grossly affected by the flood. Some parts of the roof, were damaged because of the winds that accompanied the torrential rain. I joined them in the task. Some of our properties and home appliances were grossly damaged, and cannot be reused anymore, therefore, we had to discard them.

CONCLUSION.

The Abia State government of Nigeria, should come to our rescue and should offer the needed help to all affected houses in the vicinity of Aja Road Aba, by Obedimo zone.
The construction company should endeavour to construct standard adequate drainage system, to prevent the reoccurrence of the incident of flooding, in our neighborhoods and the entire Aba town.
