Introduction

We are delighted to announce this fresh project called Steem Business Directory. As a community that is 100% into Steem Promotion, we are constantly looking out for unique ways to promote Steem in our local communities. We want people to see the value that Steem can bring to their lives and encourage them to join. Through Steem Business Directory, we want to promote Steem to local businesses. We will start by making a business review for them. Find details below.

Steem Busines Directory - What is it

We want to start by creating a catalogue of local businesses published and updated on the Steemit platform. Through this, we help businesses create awareness for their goods or services. By taking this first step, we would have opened an opportunity for Steem collaboration with these local businesses. Such a collaboration will in turn facilitate a mutually beneficial business relationship between local businesses and Steem. Basically, we want to bring businesses to Steem in an organized way, and see how both parties can gain from such partnership.

Steem Busines Directory - What we want to achieve

We have a lot of things in mind with this project. Some of those things will be long term goals whereas others will be shortterm. Either ways, Steem Busines directory certainly looks promising. Below are some things we would achieve with the project:

1. Catalogue local businesses: We will have a comprehensive collection of local businesses by publishing a business review for them. We will have a summary of the reviewed businesses at the end of the week and a monthly update at the end of each month.

2. Helping businesses Find Customers: We hope to assist local businesses find new customers. We already have a project for this called Sell More. Steem Business Directory will work hand in hand with Sell more to help local businesses find new customers. We will be their first customers as we encourage our members to buy from our partner businesses

3. Get Business owners to Sign up on Steemit: This is one thing we want to achieve. We will convince business owners to join Steemit eventually, if not immediately. As they see the value we bring to their business, they will see reasons to create an account and start promoting their business here.

4. Get Businesses to invest in Steem: Attracting external investors is crucial for the growth of Steem. Our local businesses will continue to benefit from our services by investing in Steem no matter how small. For example, Imagine If these businesses can sign up and buy 100 Steem which is powered up, then we can gradually build investors in numbers. As a weekly small target, we can try to sign up 10 businesses and get them to buy 50 -100 steem. That would be a small, but important way to start.

5. Get businesses to accept Steem: In the nearest future, these businesses can be made to accept Steem as a means of payment. We can help them change it to fiat. That way, Steem can find a local use case. Our members can pay for goods and services in Steem. This will be a great way to Start.

6. Steem Trade fairs: We believe that after building a comprehensive business directory, in the future it will be possible to organize small trade fairs powered by Steem. This will not be possible immediately, but will be part of our long term goals. We can even have Steem powered product discounts in the various business seasons available locally. In this ways, businesses will see the value that Steem can bring to them. They will be willing to continue our business partnerships.

Services we hope to offer

We need to show local business owners that we are bringing value to them. SO in order to accept us, we will propose the following services to them:

1. Advertisements and access to our market: We will create a Whatsapp group and build an audience. Our business partners will be free to advertise their goods and services there. It will be an attraction to show them that we already have a market where they can start posting product samples and hope to sell

2. Put there business address in a map: What3words and Google maps can help new customers locate a business. So we will help our business partners enlist on these services so that when customers search their address online, they will be found. It can even help the customers visit the business for the first time.

3. Others: We are still thinking of other ways to use the Steem brand and provide valuable services to local businesses. More updates will come as they become available.

When and how are we starting?

This post represents our kickoff date. We have started from this week. We are encouraging our members to support this project and start with us immediately. Do the following:

1. Meet local businesses and write a review for them: Meet a local business and offer to help them find more customers online and in person. Let them know that in order to start, they need to allow you capture their goods and make a business review for them. You can show a sample business review. Then, they can signup and start writing updates about their goods as often as they wish. Then, we can add them to our Whatsapp business group.

Note: We will make a template post to show us the things that MUST be included in a business review. But until then, here are two great sample reviews:

2. Drop your business review links here: Some of our members are already writing business reviews. Since we are starting this week, please drop the links of any business reviews you have made starting from Monday 16/8/2022 to Sunday 21/8/2022. Each week, we will make a new post for dropping links. At the end of the week, we make a summary and see the featured businesses.

We will Reward you

At the end of each week, we will reward really hardworking members that are helping us build this directory. We will not be specific now. But apart from voting their review posts, we will try to motivate them in some other ways.

Note: Remember to get the contacts of the business owner. Also try to sign them up and assist them do their introduction post. If that is not possible at the first time, you can return to do it. We will add them to our Whatsapp group so that they can feel free to advertise. As the relationship goes and they enjoy our service, we will require them to buy some steem and power it up.

Conclusion

We hope to have a success of this project. We are seeing the possibility of having a directory with more than 1000 local businesses by the end of December 2022. Help us achieve this goal by reaching out to businesses near you. Start from businesses of people you know. Your friends, relatives, family members, etc. Also go to businesses you patronize already, since they know you too. Remember, you are their first customer. Buy something from them and if they have a receipt, get it and use it in your review.
