That's right! I'm talking to the new counterpart to Steem Engine.
I'm still waiting for the tribes I care about to make the switch to have the tokens be exclusively not on Steem. I mean, most of them no longer index the posts on Steem anyways.
For example, SteemLeo (LeoFinance) long stopped showing posts on this chain. In fact, you can see which tribes have reserved their names on the new Engine. It's only a matter of time before they all move over.
Those tokens are meant to be a taste of what SMTs could be. Unfortunately, I don't think that will ever happen on this chain now. I also have my doubts on the chain, but whatever happens happen. The fun part about them is that you could get a little extra from outside of the standard reward pool.
Sometimes, they may reflect the quality of a piece of content from a different perspective.
I'm not a fan of centralized shittokens, but it is something fun for the community to do.
Now, the bet is on to see how long Splinterlands will conjure its custom jsons here.
I will not bother to move any of my tokens over and also... I agree they are likely dead here also.
The thing about tribes is that they also create the uncomfortable feeling of missing out when you aren't using your stake there to vote on something.
I think the move will be good because it'll show who actually wants to make things work, but I still prefer to see SMTs or whatever the equivalent is instead.
There were only 2 or 3 tokens that even attempted to monetize anything. The others were just points or pegs.
Yeah, most are garbage.
