SteemCITY: Police Station - a case study
Hi everyone,
Crime is one of the built-in mechanism used also as a sink source for the SIM tokens.
Unfortunate, in my city this is already a big problem. For the second time, robbers take cover under the darkness of the night and are attacking my buildings.
First they robbed the Bank; now they targeted my Shopping Mall...
This was not acceptable anymore, and I decided to build a Police Station (bought it for 8.5 STEEMP from the market). The immediate effect was that the popularity if my city increases to 125, giving also a small boost to population (+1).
I'm waiting now for the night to see the effect on the crime rate (currently at 20%). Hopefully it was a good investment...

Later edit: It looks that the bad guys didn't liked my new Police Station. They decided to have some fun, and this night they robbed the Bank:

There is one important factor like police funds from 0-100%, going down daily by 10%.
Every police station decrease crime rate by funds*0.2%, so when police funds are at 100% one police station should decrease crime by 2%.
at this moment police funds are at 50% and effect should be -1%...
at 0%, without funds police doesn't work :D
Police funds will be refilled by president, for now emperor gerber :) refills it.
This part is ready for government update, and game president chosen by players will decide about refilling police funds. Refilling police funds will also apply one day 10% tax on income.
I'm considering private security as an alternative. Instead of contributing to a police fund, better to use the money to hire security contractors. Why not, @steemcityrewards? I have lot of homeless people that might appreciate a warm uniform...
As you know, there is even the @homeless-city where a lot homeless people stay.
Maybe they could get orders to help other players.
Better do it in the real life way:
Corrupt the police, build another 3 banks and send the military/paramilitary if the people dare to protest!
