“Contest| "Tools to Spark Culinary Inspiration #19"
Hello my friends on Steem. How are you all doing today? Table manner is one thing my parents have always pondered on and always made sure that we imbibe good table manners. Also, I’d have to say a big thank you to @ninapenda for raising up this topic that needs to be talked on and also organizing this contest.
What are "table manners"? Explain some examples.
Table manners can be defined as the rules or regulations that guides people on the dining table whenever they are eating. Some table manners we have to learn include:
• Eat slowly. When we rush our food, we tend to vomit all after eating.
• Don’t talk while eating. Talking while eating is not very good and it sometimes cause constipation.
• Wash your hands before you eat. Our hands is the fastest way we can invite germs into our bodies so we should always wash our hands before we put it into our mouth.
• Clean your table after eating. It’s good to take care of the table after eating so it doesn’t get dirty always.
Do you think children should be taught table manners or wait till they are grown before they can learn it?
One thing I know is that we humans tend to imbibe the behavior we have been practicing from our childhood. This is why it feels like older people are not smart because they are not used to that thing.
About table manners, it’s very important to teach kids about it when they are still very little. They will be able to differentiate between the right and wrong manners on the dining table.
Also, our kids will be able to eat conveniently at a very tender age and it will save us the stress of having to feed them all the time.
What is the most tasking table manners for you? Share with us.
I think this has to do with talking while eating. I’m very fond of talking and eating at the same time. I find myself having to do one more thing while eating. It mostly feels like that action is complementing the food I’m eating at that moment.
Well, I am trying very hard to stop talking while eating. I want to make sure that I successfully imbibe this attitude so that by the time I have kids, teaching them the proper table manner won’t be difficult.
Is it best to avoid a meal on the menu because you can't pronounce the name? Have you ever done it?
No, I have never done this. One thing I know is that, we learn everyday and if I pronounce the word incorrectly, the highest thing people will do is laugh at me but at that moment, I will learn how to pronounce the name.
Also, I know everyone who can pronounce the name of that particular meal learned it one day so it’s never good to be shy about it.
On this not, I’d be inviting my friends @ngozi996 @vishwara and @selina1 to join me on this contest.
Thank you for participating in this contest. Best wishes…..

Thank you!
Like you pointed out, we learn everyday. No man is an encyclopedia of knowledge.
What one doesn't know, one strives to know instead of shying away from it
