What are "table manners"? Explain some examples.

Etiquette refers to human conduct, respect for others, and moral and social norms. Table manners refers to the manners, rules, politeness, and respect we show at the table while eating. Table manners are an important virtue for all of us. Table manners include waiting and eating together, appreciating the food, not wasting food, keeping the table clean, and asking permission when the meal is over. Finally, it can be said that through manners, we show respect to each other, and we are respected.

Do you think children should be taught table manners or wait till they are grown before they can learn it?

Yes, I think children should be taught table manners. We know that childhood is the most instructive time to learn anything. The best time for all our education is childhood because then our brains are good and we can learn and practice very little. Table manners are as important for adults as they are for children. Family is called the primary level of education because, before formal education, family is the foundation of everything. By teaching children table manners, they will be able to understand and maintain self-respect in different environments with different cultures in general.

What is the most tasking table manners for you? Share with us

Below are some of my most tasking table manners:
Eat Together: We always try to eat together at the dinner table. Because eating together at the dinner table increases the respect of both of them in the manners shown to each other.

Don't talk too much: Too much talk never goes well in any place, and talking too much after sitting at the table is never out of manners. So we should not talk excessively at the dinner table.
No use of mobile or other devices: We have many people eating together at the dining table, and if someone is using mobile or different devices then it is rude. So we should not use different devices or mobiles at the table.
Waiting: It is impolite to wait until food is served before eating.
Non-sounding: Most of us Bengalis eat with our hands while eating, but according to society and environment, we have to eat with a spoon. Then we should eat food with a carefully cut spoon, so as not to cause trouble to others.
Take permission at the end of the meal: One of the virtues of table manners is to take permission from everyone at the end of the meal or to finish the meal together.

Is it best to avoid a meal on the menu because you can't pronounce the name? Have you ever done it?

As people grow older and adapt to the environment, they can learn more from reality. Similarly, the food menu has many types in many cultures societies or restaurants. As a result, many times we feel ashamed that we do not know the name of this menu and how to order, so many times it is not ordered. But we need to get rid of the shame and learn.

Yes, it happened to me sometimes; when I first came to the city, I was not familiar with many food menus. As a result, he felt shy in many places or restaurants. As a result, I avoided that menu. But when I stayed in the city for a while I gradually got ideas about everything and avoided feeling shy. Nowadays I don't have to face this problem anymore. Everyone should know and learn about everything without feeling shy.

I invited them to participate in the beautiful contest @azit1980, @enamul17, @nurnobi10.

Thank you for participating…..

What a thoughtful and insightful article. I completely agree that table manners are a critical part of showing respect and consideration for others. It is essential to teach children these values from an early age, as it is during their formative years that they most easily absorb and practice these lessons.

This is one thing we each need to keep in mind. We have so many cultures and how they pronounce their meals therefore shame should be something thrown away when one is learning new things.

Beautifully written.
