Your last point about open rebuke is very true, it is necessary to sound out a warning when we are not comfortable about something, and is only people that are insensitive that will not take the rebuke as correction but get angry over it, whereas quality like humility will allow us to accept corrections and make the needed changes, accept advice from older person and learn from their examples.
