INTRODUCTION

Hello steemians and beautiful ladies @steemladies, I’m so glad to be a part of the participant of this week’s contest “Choices! What will it be? #78.” Thank you @patjewel for this beautiful contest.
In this contest I have to choose one topic from five topics, out of which I have chosen "KEYCHAIN" because of an important experience i had with a friend of mine back in college days.

A keychain is an accessory that is commonly used, not just to hold keys. keychains have personal, decorative items that has aesthetic appeal and social connections. keychains are used to hold different keys in one place.

Keychains are of different shapes, sizes, and materials, for people to make their choices. Some keychains are designed solely for function e.g a nail cutter, plush e.t.c while some are symbols, or beloved characters. keychains serve as an extension of one’s personality. keychains aren’t just about keeping their keys together but about showcasing a piece of themselves to the world.

For instance, Favour a college friend who really loved her keychain. It’s not just any keychain—it’s a Minnie & mickeymouse, baby pink and black with a smiling face in the center keychain. She got it as a birthday gift from her bestie, Franca.

Favour loved the keychain that it became a precious possession to her. To an outsider, it might seem like a simple toy attached to her backpack, but not for Favour, it meant the world to her. Every time she sees it, she’s reminded of Franca and the years of friendship they’ve spent together. They’ve been friends from nursery school, family friends and then became besties.

The keychain serves as a symbol of their friendship, and Favour takes good care of the Mickey mouse key holder. She see to it that it doesn’t get messy even to the point that she washes it with soap and water because it’s water resistant. cleaning Her Mickey Mouse keychain wasn’t just a decorative item; it’s a tangible reminder of the pure and genuine friendship she feels when she’s with Franca. On days when she’s feeling down or anxious, Favour tends to look at the keychain and just smile, the soft texture and smiling face providing her with comfort and a sense of security.

In school, Favour’s Minnie&Mickey Mouse keychain has also become a conversation starter. Our college mates often ask her about it, and she eagerly shares the story of how she got it from her bestie and what it meant to her.

For Favour, it’s more than an accessory it's a way to connect with others and be a part of her life. Some of our college mates even started to bring their own keychains to school, turning the accessory into a valuable thing. Each keychain tells its own story, and the students often gather during break periods to talk about the importance of their favorite keychains.
Favour’s keychain also plays an important role in her everyday life. Like many students, she carries different keys; her house key, locker key, and bike lock key. Before she had the keychain, she often misplaced her keys, leaving her crying and mentally stressed looking for it just for her to find them after hours of searching, But with the pinky mickeymouse keychain, her keys are easy to spot. This has saved her from numerous moments of frustration, especially on busy school mornings when every second counts.

Keychains, like Favour’s often serve as small but powerful reminders of our relationships, interests, and experiences. They are accessories that represent both the practical and emotional aspects of life. Whether it’s a Mickey mouse keychain, a sleek metal tag or any design, a keychain can convey a range of emotions and meanings, making it much more valuable than a simple tool for organizing keys.

In the case of Favour, her pink Mickey Mouse keychain is a reflection of her friendships, her personality, and her ability to find joy in the little things in life. It’s a reminder that even small thing, can carry great significance and that personal items, no matter how simple, have the power to connect us to the people we love and also helps create memories we cherish the most which is really a beautiful life lesson that I still practice till date.
