So sad to read your story. Losing a loved one especially at a tender age can be so sad. Moreso considering the circumstances surrounding the demise.
The baby was just a victim of circumstance. Perhaps if the driver had been more attentive... But the mother's word had nothing to do with this. It's just sad that the same day, tragedy struck and she couldn't take back her words.
Perhaps we need to be careful about what we say. It might be that last we say, or the person will hear.
