Contest| "Tools to Spark Culinary Inspiration #19"
Cooking and the kitchen for me to a large extent as a child was just to satisfy the cravings for food, but as I grew and began tasting the delicious delicacies that come out of the kitchen, my desire to learn and experiment more grew with me. I see food as different mix of colours while the kitchen as the grand canvas where all these delightsome colours emerge.
Thank you @ninapenda for this contest.
Table manners are the proper set of rules and behaviours that should be applied when eating or drinking.
Some examples of table manners I learnt early are;
The table must always be set, with the cutlery at their proper places. Napkins must be folded and kept beside the plates and not left askew.
No talk at the dining table when eating. This is to avoid food spewing on someone else at the table or going down the wrong passage.
No farting at the dining table.
Wait till everyone is seated before you start eating.
Do not place your elbows on the dining table
Always say "thank you" after eating.
I feel table manners are one of the primary and basic things children should be taught early alongside how to show courtesy. This shouldn't be something left for adulthood as it will also help in building the child into the adult they'll become tomorrow.
A child that doesn't have the right table manners will be seen as unschooled and uncourteous in society as that child will be behaving like a wild animal when he or she comes to the eating or dining table.
😂😂😂 While growing up, I think the most tasking table manner for me was " No talking when I'm eating" as there would always be something i wanted to say😂😂.
Oh it was a bit hard to keep to and my mum would always give me the "stares" whenever I start talking when we're eating😂. I wouldn't get it at first but after a while when I noticed everyone staring at me, I would just suddenly remember and then still say " oh sorry ma"
Of course, another stare would follow 😂.
Even now that I'm grown, except it's an official event where I need to bring out etiquette rules, I won't be able to keep quiet as gist is plenty around food time.
Personally, I don't think I have done this or will ever do this as I'm very adventurous with food. Once my interest is piqued about a meal I will eat it even if I can't pronounce it's name 😂. I will just raise the menu and ask the waiter to give me this while pointing at it
( Of course, the waiter will pronounce the name by himself or herself and then I'll say ehen, that's the one😂😂.)
@jovita30 my food mama, come join this contest as I will be enjoying the delicacies from your kitchen when I see you😂
