Entry:"Tell your story #21 - My Funny OFW Friend
Hello! Steemians!
Last Friday, the Filipino Overseas Worker, visited me. She is the maid of the son of my boss. His boss was only three years old when I started working here. Every Thursday or Friday night, she came with her boss. It is our nature that when we met, we bought for us what she loved to eat the fried chicken. Sometimes, she gave me money and sometimes if I have money I am the one buying for us.
One box of fried chicken with Arabic bread plus gravy and French fries worth 4 dollars. I also bought a drink, Mirinda orange.
She was so hungry. I told her to eat rice and spinach soup with meat. She refused because she didn't like the meat with spinach. For me, I preferred that soup I like it. While eating she talked a lot.
Cheers with Miranda! Cheers for our friendship in one year !
I was glad that her last visit was a happy moment to both of us. Unlike the other week, we had a sad moment.
Her Life Story
Her name is Jonnah, 37 years old from Philippines. She have 4 children with her first husband. But they separated and she found another man and she have three children . Her boss is the son of my employer.
Last few weeks ago, she told me about her problem about her latest husband who is not taking good care of their children. She decided working abroad with good condition and agreements with her partner but it changed. She wanted to go home but she is still under contact. If she force to terminate her working contract to her boss, she will be the one to buy plane ticket. I advised her to finish the contract and go. She cried when telling me about her problem and she also have problem about the pain in her stomach. I felt pity to my friend.
I told myself that even me I have so many problems too but thanks God, I am healthy. Every individual has its own grievances. I told her to calm down and pray for guidance. Prayers can move mountains that hurdle and block our way.
Turning Points
Lately, her female employer is doing well with her after she asked permission to go home. Then, her husband also had changes who look for the welfare of the three kids. Those situation that bothered her for how many months triggered her focus in her work. She could've sleep before thinking about the situation of her kids in school. Now, her husband changed after she gave ultimatum words to kept his mind awake to take care of the children.
Her latest visit to me was a picture of happy mother and she laughed out loud . She is a jolly person and have many jokes. But because of her previous problem, it made her conditions so dull.
Therefore, our life being an #ofw( Overseas Filipino Workers) is not a joke. There are so many woman who took their life when depression and anxiety sucked them. I remember my way back when I was new here. I had no Filipino friend, most of them were Indonesian. I am grateful that eve though we were not the same in nationalities but we had a good relationship. So in their side, they are lucky that I am here to comfort their worries. As a human being, it is my duty to help and give comfort those who needs me.
At least this moment, she is now happy because her family are all in good condition.
This is my entry for this week and I would like to say thank you #steemladies for counting me in this group of beautiful women.
