The Diary Game – #23: Share your day with us!
Hello Everyone!
I hope you are doing well...
It was the 17th of January,
I woke up at about 6:30 am when my hubby was ready to go for his morning jogging session. I had many household chores to complete today, but still, I wanted a few more hours of sleep. Finally, it was 9:30 am when I woke up. Vihan also woke up with me; he was always a bit fussy for a few minutes after waking up. Carrying him, I started my day. I drank a cup of water and went to the kitchen to prepare tea for us. Still, little Vihan wants to feed his milk, and I need to stay near him until he finishes his bottle of milk.
For all mommies, this period is a tough time but I always think to myself, My child is growing day by day, and there will be a time when he will stop looking for me. There will be a day when I miss the routines that seem demanding now and will only remain as a memory in the future. Such feelings make me emotional sometimes and motivate me to be stronger, encouraging me to enjoy all the little moments with my child. No matter how busy my day is, I make sure that I take care of him well.
Before having our breakfast I had a bath, leaving my husband to look after the child. Every Wednesday is the local market in our area where the sellers from different areas of the village come and sell their homegrown fruits and vegetables. I love to shop from these local vendors as It is helpful for them as well. And we get some fresh fruits and vegetables without any chemicals added.
I didn't take much time to shop, I quickly bought what my eyes caught as fresh and good for the baby. I came back home and went straight to the kitchen to make our lunch. Little Vihan spent time playing on his own and watching nursery rhymes on TV. Keeping him occupied is the challenging part of my day when my husband is away for work.
By 2:00 pm lunch was ready. I cooked the Ridge Gourd that bought from the market this morning and I also prepared some Mukunuwenna Mallum (fresh leaf salad slightly warmed up mixed with Onions and Coconut). My todays menu is perfect for our little one I made a boiled egg and fed him his lunch.
In the evening I took some rest after putting down my little one to his evening nap. After some time I woke up and continued with some of the household chores that were left to do since morning. It was around 8:00 pm when my husband came back home after work. We had our dinner and finished our work for the day. I watched my two favorite teledramas on YouTube and before going to bed here I am writing my diary.

At this stage, children needs the most attention and when they are not given this attention, they feel bad in their own way. It's not so easy on mothers to run the house and take care of kids and hubby. Wait till you have the second baby, then they will be two to scatter the house 🤣. Thank God that at the end you were able to carry out your duties.
