Health Matters; AIR POLLUTION
What are the main sources of air pollution in our environment?
Looking around in our environment, I can actually say there are a whole lot of things that really is causing air pollution in our environment which we need to look to. Air pollution is really causing the loss of lives and even properties.
- Industrial Emissions: This is the first source of air pollution in our environment which I strongly believe needs to be looked into. Trust me I have come to Disney that industries are really a major cause of air pollution and it is even increasing day by day. In fact I will say there we are having some pollutants like sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and even many more.
- Transportation: The second source of air pollution are transportation. There are some automobiles, trucks and even those airplane that always give pollutants to our environment. Pollutants like carbon monoxide and which I strongly believe needs to be looked into before it is too late.
- Agricultural Activities: The last source of air pollution I will like to talk about are air pollution. Trust me, even though fertilisers are very useful for agricultural activities, there are still some synthetic fertilisers that are causing air pollution which needs to be looked into.
How does air pollution affect human health, especially vulnerable groups like children and the elderly?
Like I said earlier, on several occasions, air pollution have actually affected our human health and even beyond more.
Respiratory System Effects: The first I will make mention of is that it actually affect our respiratory system. Most of the time, air pollutants can cause asthma and even damage our lungs.
Cardiovascular System Effects: The second one is that it actually affects our cardiovascular system which can lead to more cardiovascular diseases, heart attacks and even strokes on several occasions.
- Immune System Vulnerability: Many of us might not know but when we expose ourselves to Air Pollutants too much, it most of the time leads to our immune system to be damaged and affected with infections and leading to inflammation.
What are some common symptoms or health issues caused by exposure to polluted air?
Well I will say there are some common symptoms that we can pay attention to in health issues that need to be fought.
- Coughing
- Breath Shortness
- Fatigue and Dizziness
- Headaches
Then there are some health issues it always cause which are below;
- Asthma
- Lung Cancer
- Pulmonary Disease
- Heart Attacks
- Hypertension
- Mental Health Issues
How can individuals contribute to reducing air pollution in their daily lives?
I strongly believe there are ways that one can actually contribute to the reduction of air pollution in our environment. In fact I strongly believe that if we join hands together, we will go a long way to overcome and fight the battle against air pollution.
- Reduce Vehicle Emissions: We need to always work on actually reducing the vehicle emissions and much more. This we can make use of bike, walk and even us always trying to maintain our vehicles and making sure it is in a good condition.
- Conserve Energy: The second is that we can start making use of something called the conserve energy that will help us. I believe if we start making use of renewable energy, it will help us to reduce air pollution.
- Adopt Sustainable Practices: Then we need to make use of something called sustainable practice. What do I mean by that? We need to always make use of locally sourced products or even making use of less paper and more of the digital options also.
How does air pollution vary between urban and rural areas?
Well I will say the difference between urban and rural areas when it comes to air pollution is the fact that the levels of pollutant in those areas are actually different. Since it is looking like there is so much demand and pressure of more industry in urban areas much more than the rural areas, I will say the air pollution causes in the urban area is much more than in the rural areas.
I invite @damithudaya , @alexanderpeace and @mikitaly @edgargonzalez @khursheedanwar and @radjasalman and @goodybest to drop a very constructive comments on this post and also to participate in this contest.
Thank you so much
Thanks for your symptoms of exposure to air pollution. I never thought of dizziness, cough, and headache.
You are perfectly right. Thank you so much
Is it right that breathing polluted air for a long time can cause many problems but the most dangerous is lung cancer?
