Back Pain Awareness
Back pain is the most common health condition that usually affects old people in the world. It start from the neck down to the back of your body, back pain is a sudden sharp pain in the back and is usually caused as a result of accidents such as motor accidents or accidents within the home. Sometimes, it may also result from lifting objects that are too heavy or falling from the staircase in the office.
It will slowly develop until it reaches a certain stage that will require a medical expert to attend to your health problem. Although it varies from one person to another and in some cases, it may not be as serious a health problem and it can be cured without the need for surgery.
Mostly, I experience back pain due to stress. I notice that whenever I work without resting or sit on a chair for hours, it may lead to back pain. Sometimes I find it difficult to sleep; I just move my body from right to left. Even when I am walking, I still feel the sharp pain at the back. My muscles continue to pain me, particularly at various areas of my lower back.
So, I took paracetamol, which is one of the medicines that work effectively in treating back pain. After resting for some hours, this health problem disappears, and I feel alright to perform certain activities I left unattended to.
The causes of back pain include the following:
• Strains and sprains: This occurs when you lift or carry an object that is too heavy, which may result in injury to the muscles and eventually affect the entire joint area, causing ongoing pain. Sprains, on the other hand, affect ligaments that support or connect other important organs.
• Posture: Poor posture can result in back pain when a person sits or stands for a long period of time.
• Pregnancy: Back pain is common among pregnant women, particularly in the early stages or due to an increase in hormone levels.
• Infection: This can occur in the bones of the human spine or bladder. After identifying the causes, it is necessary to visit healthcare providers.
Symptoms of back pain vary from one person to another. It may develop slowly and gradually spread throughout the back.
Symptoms of back pain include: -
• Continual or increasing discomfort in the back when lifting or carrying a large object.
• Tiredness or weakness in the leg that makes it difficult to move from one place to another.
• Worsening when waking up from sleep, especially in the morning - this health problem happened among aging people.
• Sharp pain in the back that makes it difficult to bend in order to pick something up.
Prevention is necessary so that it can prevent us from having back pain that may eventually lead to a chronic health problem. As human beings, we must sit appropriately by maintaining good posture.
Another thing is that whenever we want to lift a big object, it is essential to use our legs instead of our back. Using your back in that moment can damage the muscles that connect various organs in the body. Warming up is another important aspect. Warming up before exercise can strengthen the bones and your muscles.
It's very important for a person to receive proper treatment after they have an injury, and these treatments are:
Medication: Use your drugs the way healthcare providers prescribe them to relieve you from the pain you are going through.
• Injection: This is another treatment to help you relieve serious back pain; receiving recommended injections at the hospital may help you feel better so that you can perform your duties effectively.
• Surgery: Some back pain requires an operation for you to feel better, mostly carried out by professional doctors; there are various types of surgery they can perform depending on your condition and the tests they carry out
• Physical therapy: Known as PT, is used to support our muscles and other joint areas so that we can restore to a normal position.
