The citizens of Sri Lanka call this star fruit Kamaranga.

So, the Kamaranga plant known by the scientific name of Aveora Carambola is found in countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka. In addition, this plant is widespread in Southeast Asia, South Pacific and East Asia.

It is used as a fruit and has a unique shape unlike other fruits. If a kamaranga fruit is cut crosswise, we can see how it takes a star shape. That is why it is called Starfruit

Kamaranga is the fruit that contains the most calcium among the fruits grown in this country. Kamaranga is rich in antioxidants, potassium, vitamin C, and sodium. Especially after eating, kamaranga is considered as a dessert that can absorb the iron contained in food.

So this kamaranga is good only after it is ripe. Then it turns from orange to yellow. Half-ripe or raw kamaranga is not very good to eat. So sour kamaranga is not suitable for gastritis patients

Among the mouth-wateringly delicious fruits, kamaranga has a special place. Especially kamaranga can be called as a fruit with medicinal value because it is beneficial for many diseases. Ancient Ayurvedic scriptures say that eating low-sugar kamaranga improves sexual potency in men.

Kamaranka is a very good fruit for diabetes. The special salts contained in kamaranka have the ability to control blood sugar levels in diabetic patients.
