It is important some of these traditions are enumerated in their various groups, they can be religious traditions and cultural ones. Some religious traditions are infant baptism, idolatrous practices in the denomination as sign of the cross, counting of beads when praying, wearing a specialized garment for praying to the dead, a bathing in the river for the sake of belief, wearing a piece of material so as to wade off accident.

Anyone who gets converted from a folk with the above practice faces the trouble of persecution, the people will want him or her in addition to their faith to also observe these, these practices diminishes the effectiveness of the truth.

Some cultural traditions are; women compelled to barb their hair and wear certain garment when they loose their husband, some idolatrous burial rites as crying early morning for the wife, washing the dead body and the woman is meant to drink it, agreement among families for infant marriage, celebration of new yam festival or other cash products, ritual for deities when a woman is being given out in marriage, a woman being made to pay bride price on a man, receiving any kind of incisior tribal marks

There are many and the Christian who finds himself in such places will ensure he stands his ground, we are living to please God, He is the one who owns us. The christian should be rooted and built up in him and establish in faith, the counsel from God to the christian is to beware so as that no one will spoil you through the traditions of men, after the rudiments of this world.
