SEC-S16 / W2 | How do you like it better? injected Or orally?💉💊

Introduction

Machines are prone to wear and tear over time, likewise, the human body system. The constant active participation in daily activities tends to weeken us over time as such need some kind of medication which comes in different forms.

In addition, we are sometimes infected (maybe by certain viruses, bacterial/parasitic infections...) which requires treatments to return the body system to its normal state.

Which method is more effective (injections or oral administration)?

When it comes to administering drugs into the body in the quest to conquer certain sickness/disease, humans sometimes tend to have a preferred method for a reason, maybe a method they consider effective or less painful in the process of recovering.

As a child, I was extremely prone to malaria and I could hardly stay for 3 months without getting treatments to battle the parasitic infection. The struggle continued even till the teenage stage of my life and one thing I have always resolved to is intramuscular injections, which my family and I find very effective.

Based on my personal experience, the injection method is the best and most effective way to administer drugs. Even though, a phobia of needles wouldn't allow a few categories of people to choose the injection method. But for me, they are no longer issues to me because I have been injected severally at almost every stage of my life while growing up.

That being said, I'm equally open to taking drugs orally, I find no displeasure in that. In essence, I'm quite comfortable with every method of administering drugs but over time, the injection method has proven to be the best method for me (when it comes to quick recovery).

Intramuscular or intravenous?

Research shows that the intravenous method is the easiest way to get drugs into the body system and, hence, the fastest way to relieve or cure an ailment. Intravenous in its simple term in drug administration means passing the injection via the veins.

I have no strong argument between these two in terms of personal experience because the only time I receive intravenous injections is during vaccinations against yellow fever, typhoid, tetanus, and others. These are injections taken not because one is sick but to prepare the body system ahead to fight when strangers tend to crawl into it.

Even though some resources online show that the intravenous injection method is the quickest way to deliver drugs to the bloodstream, I have no user experience to compare it with the intramuscular I'm very familiar with.

Why Vitamin B12 is more relevant in injections than Pills

It was highlighted earlier in this article that injections are the best way to get the drugs into the bloodstream where it is required for action against a sickness/disease, more effective in that realm than pills. And this explains why more Vitamin B12 can be absorbed in injections than in pills.

Considering Vitamin B12 in injections, it directly enters the bloodstream with easy and sufficient absorption unlike Vitamin B12 in pills that passes through the lining of the stomach where much of it would have been absorbed by the tissues and reduced before making it to the bloodstream, this renders it less effective

A research shows that after a person swallowed 1000 mcg of Vitamin B12, only 1.3% made it to the bloodstream. On the other hand, the body can absorb 13% - 97% of Vitamin B12 in injections. Even at a higher volume of supplements (pills), there is no certainty of getting sufficient Vitamin B12 as required by the body. This is the reason and technicality behind Vitamin B12 predominantly administered via injections.

Conclusion

In conclusion, drug administration via injections has been a method of treatment I found very effective in my healing process as I was growing up. When you visit me, you can find needles and syringes lying around in the house because they are the tools for my treatment.

A pleasure taking part in a highly creative contest like this and I would like to invite @kouba01, @ngoenyi, and @ruthjoe to also participate.

The injectable method is very infectious friend although many do not like injections and prefer the oral form, but you prefer intramuscular when the medicine is necessary for what requires more when it comes to malaria.

Even if people are afraid of needles, friend, we must be strong because if that type of treatment is warranted, you must comply with it.

Thus, one way to receive treatment and be effective is through intravenous means, just as vitamin B12 should be injected, a better way to receive it.

You are right, there are circumstances where an individual cannot do anything but accept whatever treatment the practitioners deem best for the situation at hand. Thanks for your input on this.

Abrazos y Bendiciones.

Aside from individuals who have phobias for needles, we can all agree that the injection method works perfectly and is quicker for recovery. I'm glad you added a valuable piece on this.

Greetings dear friend @fredquantum
Medical science has discovered many ways to recover from illness. Every drug has its own mechanism of action. Oral or injection, injection has its share of intravenous or intramuscular administration. Intravenous injection is effective for rapid healing. I wish you a healthy life.
