What are Metrics in term of a Website

Most of the people don't know that there are plenty of things a web developer goes through while creating a website. Most of business owners don't know about these things. So, I would like to teach you about Metrics on a website. These Metrics are very important in order to analyze the website.

METRICS:- As the name itself says, metrics mean to measure something by quantity. As a Marketer, Business Owner, or even a personal brand, you need to analyze how many people are visiting your page or clicking on your offers or what is the conversion rate.

Example:- Ravi is a Restaurant Owner and has a website named "www.punjabidhabha.com" ( This is an imaginary website).
Now, Mr. Ravi checks his Google Analytics Account (we will discuss this in the upcoming lessons) and found that there are 5,000 visitors in the past month and the Bounce rate is 50%, and the number of people who ordered food via the website is 500. This is the basic Data summary.
Now, How this thing will help Mr. Ravi? He is now able to unfold and imply new marketing strategies because now he knows how many people visit and what is the Bounce Rate(explained below). He can make specific changes to his website to make it look better or he can change his advertisements or he can add some more features to his website to make it look dynamic and elegant.

2. Session:- A session means how long a visitor stays on the website. for. e.g., Mr. Ravi has 7,000 sessions last month.

3. Bounce Rate:- The percentage of people leaving your website in the first few seconds. i.e., they don't stay longer on your website.

6. Average Session Duration:- This is the average amount of time a user stays on your website during a session. with the increase in an average session of a user, It shows that your website is able to hold people's interest, and hence the website will Rank well.

7. Conversion:- When you made your user to perform a certain task like ordering food from your website as we take the example of Mr. Ravi. This is a conversion.

8. Conversion Rate:- This is the ratio of conversions of the website to the user visited.
