Greetings to the entire Community of Steemit,

This powerful type of natural energy, active and visible nuclear reactor, reflects large flashes of light and are characterized by its brightness and luminosity, which can be seen hundreds of kilometers away, produces 95% of electrical activity and occurs between 260 and 300 days a year, reaching 250 rays per km² and lasts up to 10 hours at night.
The Catatumbo Lighthouse, the name by which it is also known, is the only natural phenomenon in the world that regenerates the ozone layer, an element that protects our atmosphere from the entry of the sun's ultraviolet rays.

The lightning of the Catatumbo discharges thunder and lightning almost continuously with kilometric clouds, it is an electro-atmospheric fact, although everyone knows them as simply a lightning, this meteorological phenomenon is divided into lightning (electricity), thunder (sound) and lightning (luminosity).
Lightning is produced by a large difference in charges between the lower part of the clouds (negative), the surface and its elements (negative charge), because when it rains there are frictions and collisions between water droplets and ice particles, which manifest themselves visibly with a strong glow, this imbalance is solved fast track with the transfer of electricity (lightning), which usually causes sounds by the phenomena of expansion and contraction of air (thunder).
They occur between the months of April and November at sunset, gives the illusion as if it were daytime due to the continuity of the rays, there is talk of approximately 28 rays per minute for nine hours, according to NASA, when it occurs enough energy is generated to illuminate 100 million bulbs and 10 minutes of lightning to illuminate all of South America.

It was declared Natural Heritage of Zulia on September 27, 2005. On January 28, 2014, it is officially presented and accredited as the site on the planet with the highest generation of lightning per square kilometer per year.
