CT-Computed Tomography Scanners - A very useful technology to save life ||#club75

Scanning System, CT(Computed Tomography Scanners)

Ct scanners are used for a variety of diagnoses such as Injuries to the spine and head, bruises, and
Abdominal and pelvic disorders are also used to examine the brain ventricles, chest wall, large blood vessels, and more.
Computed Tomography Scanners imaging has become a true 3D modality that allows capturing complete autonomy and imaged within a few seconds at an isotropic spatial resolution of 0.5–0.7 mm. Modern scanners are based on Cone-beam rotation, CT scanners are speedy that rotate at 2 or 3 rotations per second.

During the CT scan, a patient lies on a table that slides into a large tube. The tube has an X-ray machine that will photograph the inside of the body. Generally, the whole process takes about 15 minutes and is painless.

Spiral CT

The patient took slowly along the gantry while the x-ray tube is in continuous rotation, the pitch is the longitudinal distance the patient in the scanner travels as per tube rotation divided by the chosen thickness.

Conventional/Sequential (Non-spiral) CT

The patient travels through the CT with a short break to capture images of the position, pause and capture simultaneously.

Usages:

Using of CT scanner we could find symptoms, injuries, infects in the early stage to take appropriate treatment.

Things that a CT scan can find include:
Certain types of cancer and benign (noncancerous) tumors.
Fractures (broken bones).
Heart disease.
Blood clots.
Bowel disorders (blockages, Crohn's disease).
Brain and spinal cord diseases or injuries.
Internal bleeding.

Risks

There is no proper evidence that says small amounts of radiation delivered by a CT scan cause cancer. But will be a chance of an increase in cancer from much larger amounts of radiation, such as from radiation therapy. Due to saving one life risks might be taken and also we should take care of the innocent who are not involved in the treatment.

After x-ray the CT SCAN is one of the most preferable diagnostic equipment and this is good for invisible injuries like sports and other also useful for diagnostic for stroke because after CT scan we can easily see bleeding in brain or skull but we can't deny for radiation.
