Hello guys! Today, I'd like to share with you how a day of a mother with a toddler goes. As you might all know, I have a toddler. Matti is already two years old and he is truly exploring a lot of things. He is learning every single second that I have to be careful and very attentive to him.

These photos I am sharing here were taken on the last day of August. It was the day my baby got healed completely out of fever. We were really thankful because it took three days for him to fully recover and we had little to no sleep during that time when he got sick. Poor baby!

Now that he is already well, I noticed there are changes to his behavior such as he is very clingy now, he wants our attention all the time, he cries when we don't attend to his needs right away while these traits were not there before he got sick.

Anyway, I guess at that time that he got sick, he felt really being taken care of and he wanted to keep that. He was carried always so now that he is fine again, he wanted to be carried all the time too, he declines walking but we would insist and explain to him why he has to walk. Sometimes it works, sometimes it won't.

Every day, I would wake up earlier than Matti and James, my husband. I would go out of the room to prepare our breakfast. As soon as Matti wakes up, they will go to the dining area and we will have breakfast together. As much as possible, I'd be waiting for the two of them, they wake up at around 8 AM or later.

And then after breakfast, Matti would usually play. Today, I asked him to name the shapes and the letters as well. He was able to recognize all the shapes on the paper above, now, I am trying to introduce to him octagon, hexagon, and pentagon.

My husband drew a smiley and sad face which he also recognizes, he even makes this sad tone in his voice whenever he says sad face. He is also fond of the rainbow colors!

And then our play reached this point when he would be asking us to draw something to which we always would comply. Then he asked his father to draw him a dinosaur and the image above was my husband's work of art! I actually love it as much as Matti loves it too!

Then it was time for bath. Prior to getting sick, Matti would ask me to go to the bathroom but now, he cries before going. I guess he thinks the water is cold so he is afraid but I hope he'll move on from that and enjoy bath time again soon.

After bath time, we played again and I initiated that he recognize the letters and the phonics sound of each letter. Matti has to also place the letter blocks into its corresponding board.

Matti loves this activity but would always stop after getting around five letters done. It's fine, perhaps he got tired but I am glad that he is already familiar with all the letters in the alphabet. He has to improve on his phonics though.

Then lunch time came in, my younger brother prepared lunch. Matti ate and then it was time for his afternoon nap. He slept from 12:30 PM to around 3 PM. He sleeps on the breast so when he is already in deep sleep and lets go of my breast, I would immediately go to the computer so I can write articles, edit images, do whatever I wanted to do on the computer.

Sometimes, the time that I spend on the computer is not enough to finish a blog because of distractions too like social media and etc. But I am glad that I have a two-hour "me" time.

When he woke up that day, we played again, and then after four in the afternoon, I asked my husband if we should buy some supplies at the market. There's a shopping center there and they have these arcade rides. I let Matti ride in there and he enjoyed it!

Then we carried on, bought some detergent soaps, fresh milk, and some other things. Matti was able to get a toy for himself too! This is a police car but he picked a neon color! This is very cheap and we came to a point where we are willing to get him a toy but it must be cheap because there's a huge tendency that he would just destroy it.

As soon as we arrived home, Matti asked to watch some videos. We usually start with his videos because I also upload his videos on his YouTube channel, yes, Matti has a YT channel, you may check Momentswithmatti! Please subscribe! Tehee, shameless plug!

After watching his videos, he would then look for ASMR videos, I don't know why but he enjoys those videos. Then he would ask to play Piano Kids, a mobile application with musical instruments. He loves musical instruments!

Then after a few minutes, since I have kid space set for 15 minutes, the screen will turn off and so he would look for another thing to do, sometimes he cries so I have to extend the time but then I have to tell him to play with his toys instead.

Sometimes, we go outside, ride a bike, or just run around but since the weather was not that good, he stays indoors. He decided to play with the blocks.

I actually thought that I can continue working on the laptop but he would ask me to join him and so I did. We played blocks and I was able to make this restaurant, I don't know if you can see it as a restaurant but that's what I was aiming for.

Matti on the other hand just built tall tower then destroys it afterward. He even attempted to destroy my own creation but I stopped him.

For dinner, I am the one who usually prepares it so around 5:30 PM we have to go to the kitchen, I let him play with some kitchen materials, sometimes, he can have screen time again.

I forgot what I cooked that night. Perhaps the sauteed squash with shrimp. After dinner, we headed straight to the room again so we could prepare for bed. The house is a little quiet that day because Matti's cousins are not around.

Matti plays the drums at any random time of the day but he spends a lot of time after dinner.

After preparing him for bed such as taking a bath, brushing his teeth, putting on sleepwear and reading a book, he would latch and then off to dreamland. This usually takes a lot of hours, he sleeps anytime between 9 PM to 11 PM. Sometimes, I try to work on my laptop while he plays the drums.

Finally, when is already asleep, I'd continue with my online hustles. Then sleep as well after two hours or if Matti wakes up asking for milk, I'd sleep too while he latches.

So, that's how a day with a toddler goes. There are times when it is slow and very dragging especially when the baby won't listen to what I say but it is only by the grace of God that I can say that I survived more than two years of taking care of him. It amazes me how my patience has extended!
