👉🏻#Club100 | #BurnSteem25 | The Diary Game Season 3 (09-14-2022) | Memories of Odette Part 1
On December 26, 2021, a typhoon visited our country and Bohol was one of the islands that it passed by. This blog covers the things that I was able to capture in the aftermath and even months after until electricity came back on February 10, 2022.
The morning after the typhoon, we went out early to check the damages that it has left. Our gates were damaged because the branches of the huge mango tree beside our house were blown away and hit by our games. There was a huge branch that was covering our front gate and we had to cut and take it out so we can get out of the gate.
My front was super dirty and messy. The trees were left with just a few branches left, this mango tree was huge before the typhoon, some of the trees next to it fell down to hit some parts of our roof.
We flew our drone and get the footage of how our town looked. It was still flooding in some areas and there were a lot of coconut trees that has fallen down.
There were a lot of deaths too during that time, especially in those areas which were near the eye of the typhoon. There were islands that were washed out and so in the next days, there was so much help coming from different agencies giving out rice and water.
The next weeks, it was challenging because there was a high demand for gas and water but the island had low to zero supply. Since there was a blackout and electrical lines were damaged as well, we have to figure out how to get electricity for work. There was no data signal too so it took a few weeks before we could grab a hold of a data signal.
And worse was that people would line up in gas stations for hours. We had also experienced lining up for more than five hours to get our tanks filled with gas. it was definitely a bad experience. This happened not just in our place but also in the neighboring islands which were also affected.
I remember going to the city one time for Matti's vaccination schedule and the entire place that we passed by, looked dull and dead. The trees were looking pale and the roads were filled with trees that had called down on the streets.
But just like any other challenge in life, there's hope. I was glad that we passed by this place on that same day and watched the sunset with grateful hearts that even if there's the pandemic plus the typhoon's post effects, we are still alive and kicking. That's what matters most.
In the next articles, I'll be sharing more about what happened to us during those months, it went from December 16, 2021, to February 10, 2022.

We were not in Cebu when Odette hit our province too! But we saw what happened to Cebu, Bohol and other places in the internet. It was so devastating. But now Filipinos in these places have recovered and have moved on.
Thanks for sharing these photos sis.
indeed sis...it's now part of our history... you were spared so thank God for that...

Grabe din po talaga si odette. Naranasan din po namin yan nung 1998 at 2008. Grabe yun. Daming nasira.
Grabe talaga sana wala nang bagyo ganyan kalakas.
Omg, ber month na pala sis, mag 1 year na pala ito... sana happy na ang pasko natin ngayon.
