I believe of the saying "Nothing Brings People Together Like GOOD FOOD" especially filipino people. At lalo na pag ang nasa lamesa ay pagkaing pinoy, tiyak magkakaisa talaga.

I have here a Filipino Food recipe which a perfect timing for the contest. It's a filipino native soup called Tinolang Manok Bisaya. And I prepared or cooked it in whole since it's just only me and my wife will eat.

I decided to cook "Tinolang Manok Bisaya" because it's perfect for the weather. Because now a days its always raining here in our place and its good to have hot soup in the table. Just got the chicken in my backyard since I have some breed chickens. And slaughtered. Just prepared and cooked it in an easy way with a basic ingredients.

Here are the ingredients and the procedures:

  • whole Manok Bisaya
  • lemon grass
  • 1 stalk spring onions
  • 1 red onion
  • 3 pieces green chilli
  • ginger
  • salt
  • umami seasoning
  • water

Procedures:

  • Wash and clean the chicken especially in the belly part.

  • Stuff the chicken cavity with lemon grass and spring onion. It makes the chicken tasty and aromatic.

  • Using a pot, cook the chicken in medium to high flame together with the other ingredients, green chilli, ginger, red onion and water until it boils. We setting the fire in medium to high because chicken meat is hard.

  • When boiled, add salt and umami seasoning to taste. Cover and continue cooking for 30 minutes.

  • After 30 minutes, flip the chicken to cook the other side and cook for another 30 minutes. To make the chicken meat smooth and easy to eat or chew. Because as what I said manok bisaya meat is so hard to chew and it takes few hours of cooking to become its meat soft.

And now our "Tinolang Manok Bisaya" is ready to served. I am sure sa paghigop mo ng sabaw nato, mapapasarap talaga ang kain mo lalo na pag mais na kanin ang ka partner.
