The Diary Game: 21st August, 2020: Servicing The Generator

Dear diary, I slept in late last night. I had to work late because it was necessary due to my location.

My mum woke me up by 6am for devotion, I needed more sleep but family prayer comes first. The devotion was anchored by my cousin, thank God I didn't anchor the devotion because it would have been a sleeping experience.

After devotion, I went back to bed. When I woke up, I was surprised to see how far time have elapse. It was some minutes past 10am.

Generator Servicing
I got up, went to brush and bath after which I had my breakfast. I had rice and stew for breakfast.

After eating, using my phone, I went through steem block chain and read through some post with comment and upvote. While I was browsing through Steemit, I swapped to WhatsApp messager.

I have been spending less time in whatsapp messenger, some friends have been reaching out to inquire why. I spent a little time chatting before taking a break.

Working on Our Generator

Later in the day, due to the light situation in Nigeria whereby the light is shared between a calculated number of hours, I went to put on the generator but it wasn't responding.

From my observation and study of the generator in past years, I have come to understand the three major issues that the generator may have at any moment.

* Fuel (petrol)

Shortage of fuel prevents the generator from responding.

* Oil

Over used and shortage of oil prevents the generator from starting which can also have a negative effect on the engine.

* Plug

Bad plug prevents the generator from starting and in most cases when its a faulty plug, it makes a sound like that of a gun shot when it is drawn.

All these I have gained from my elder ones when they were around, I love gaining knowledge in different fields because you can't tell when it will be needed.

I knew the generator won't start instantly because it went off on its own the previous day due to shortage of oil. After turning oil into it, I tried starting it but it wasn't responding.

Changing The Plug

I checked the fuel and the oil they were ok, I loosed the plug and cleaned it then it gave an attempt of starting but didn't. I changed the plug with a new one.

I tried starting it, it started but the current wasn't stable. I had to put it off, later I inquired and found out that the plug was closed at the tip.

After the whole process, the generator started working fine and better. Later on, I had my dinner after which we prayed before going to bed.
