ANGELS AND THE DEMON

.
It was on a Friday. I had seen Olanma off. I had relaxed. And thought all was at rest. But unknown to me, unrest was lurking around somewhere. Trouble was looming. Chaos was soon to loose.

.
A knock woke me. Actually, it wasn't a knock. It was several. Several knocks that grew from the soft knocks I had heard in my dreams to the hard echoing ones that made my head hurt. The knocks killed my sleep.

.
'Timi! Tiiiiimi!' The knocker screamed while its knuckles jabbed at my door determinedly.
.
At the mention of my name, the hurt in my head swiftly cleared. No! it did not clear. It was replaced. Overshadowed by fear. By fear that gave room to panic.
.
Still on my mattress, with my body folded and my back pressing hard at the wall, I fixed my eyes at the reverberating door. While my brain feasted on the thoughts of who the possible knocker could be:
.
Could it be Olanma? Has she told someone about the abortion? Olorun oo, can't she just abort it and keep her mouth still? Or, is it Wunmi? It can't be Wunmi. I had apologised to her for using another lady's picture for my DP. And to appeased her, I had quickly changed it and used her own picture and even written "WUNMI BABY, MY SWEET BOO!" as my PM.

Agh! It must not be Favour o. Temi ti ba mi o.
.
'Tiiiimiii!' The knocker continued. 'It's me! Open!' The knocker added.
.
Wait. I recognised that voice. That deep sonorous voice that always sounds like a man's own. I knew the voice. It belonged to no one but ...
.
'Tiimiii, it is me Lateefah!!!'
.
Deep sigh.
.
'Oh,' I exhaled.
.
Relieved.
.
As I stood from the bed, I dabbed the folds of sweat that had mapped my forehead with my t-shirt before I put it on. I hastily spread my bed-sheet, swept a quick glance at my room for anything that was out of place. All seemed fine.
.
I exhaled again. My was mind at rest, once again. Relieved, I headed for the door, almost swaggering, with sinister smile greasing my lips.
.
'Ladies are cheap.' I said to myself.
.
Ever since we met at Mr. Jordan's office, I had been confident that Lateefah really wanted me. I had known I would taste her.

.
That very first day, just a wink from me to her had triggered the green light from her to me: an acknowledging smile. Though, for two weeks, she avoided me, deliberately. But I knew with time her ako and shako would expire, and a new hot romance would evolve.
.
Hmmm. A new hot romance would soon evolve.
.
'Hey Lateefah.' I greeted as I opened the door.
.
Unlike the usual smiling confident mary-kay-faced Lateefah I was expecting, I was met by a sweaty frowning-faced lady whose left hand was holding her buttocks.

.
'Where is your toilet?' She asked in rush. She practically pushed me off the door as she entered, and as a result almost set me off my feet.
