in Steem For Bangladeshlast month

Nayabad Mosque was built in 1793 AD in Nayabad village of Kaharol upazila, about 20 kilometers from Dinajpur city in present-day Bangladesh. The Dhepa River passes by the mosque. This mosque has been built on 1.15 bighas of land. The mosque has a total of 4 domes. It is built with bricks, terracotta, and tiles. It was built for the workers who came from Persia to build the Kantajiu Temple. It is known from the plaque placed on the main entrance of the mosque that it was built during the reign of Emperor Shah Alam II in 2 Jaishthya, 1200 Bengal (English 1793). At that time, the landlord was Raja Baidyanath. He was the last descendant of the Dinajpur royal family. It is known from the residents of the area that in the middle of the 18th century, Muslim architects and workers who came to build the Kantanagar Temple built this mosque. They came from some western country and started living in Nayabad and built this mosque for their own use. They built this mosque for the accommodation of the workers who came to build the Kantajiu Temple and for their prayers since they were Muslims.
