Pro-Palestinian protesters at the University of Amsterdam have built barricades using desks and railings to block the entrance, demanding the institution to sever ties with Israel.

Similar protests have been taking place at universities across Europe, including UvA. The protesters argue that the Israeli institutions the university works with are benefiting from the oppression of Palestinians.

Trinity College Dublin has also announced divesting from Israeli companies connected to settlements in occupied Palestinian territory.
