Pahela Boishakh is celebrated on the first day of the Bengali New Year. Pahela Boishakh is the festival of the life of Bengalis. On Pahela Boishakh, people of all religions come together and celebrate, forgetting their communality. Bengalis have a culture of eating "Panta Hilsa " centered on Pahela Boishakh. Apart from that, various cultural programs are organized.

Cultural programs are organized at DC Hill, CRB and Gem M Son Hall in Chittagong on the occasion of Pohela Baishakh. Everyone from children to adults in the city go there to enjoy these cultural programs. Dance, drama, songs, recitations, musical instruments and other various performances are held here. This program is organized from 8 am to 10 pm under the supervision of the district administration. On this day, everyone comes to visit by decorating themselves in red and white clothes. Which creates a different colorful atmosphere. Centered at DC Hill. Again, vendors sit with stalls of various products carrying Bengali traditions around this cultural program.
