Our holidays are quickly coming to an end after Eid. It was time to get back to my busy life. After Eid, I was preparing to bring some special things from home for myself.

Garlic, Turmeric, Red chili dried in sun

After waking up in the morning, I see a bright day. Although it rained with hail during the night. When I woke up in the morning and saw the sun, I first let turmeric, chili, garlic, and coriander dry in the sun. I will grind these spices and bring them to my house. Every year, I bring these spices ready from home. My mother-in-law helps me a lot to prepare this spice powder. These spices are much better in quality when made by hand than the ready-made spice powders available in the market.

Mustard oil and cooking time

Around noon, my brother brings pure mustard oil for everyone. There is a mustard oil mill next to our house where mustard is used to make oil using a machine. Then I pack the oil and go to the kitchen to help my sister-in-law with the cooking. During Eid, there were many relatives at home, so there was a lot of cooking. I always tried to help my sisters-in-law. This took some of their time and trouble.

Gift from brother in -law

In the afternoon, my sister-in-law came to visit our house. Since Eid, relatives have been visiting our house every day. Everyone tries to meet everyone once in a year. My brother-in-law always brings us some special food. When my brother-in-law comes home, I entertain him and organize dinner. Tonight we have a special program which was a surprise for us. Since the children are all together, the thought of this strange and unusual program comes to mind.

In the evening, children enter the house with traditional bamboo torches in their hands. When we were young, we used to have fun by lighting such torches on a specific day of the year. Although nowadays this game is not seen much due to some security concerns. The children play with these torches for a while and set the torches and everyone takes a photo session together. Although we adults were a little tense whether the children would face any problems.

When the kids finish playing, I go home. When I get home, I make fried chicken for everyone for dinner tonight. Only two days remain of Eid vacation like this one. So I'm a little sad. To enjoy the last night of the vacation, we finish dinner and talk until late at night. Then we all go to sleep together. Hoping for another new day.
