Personal Protective Equipment

🛡️
Personal protective equipment is that collection of wearable gears designed to protect a person, minimising exposure in a hazardous environment and protecting the wearer from bodily injury or infection.

Though it makes me look like an alien from a distant Galaxy. It keeps me safe and protected.

[1.] Head protection:
Call it a Hard hats, helmets or headgear, that Orange thing on my head is protecting my head in case something fall from up or I walk under a hanging object, wrongly estimating its height and hit my head on it. Head injury are very serious and can be fatal, so keep your head protected at all time.

[2.] Eye protection:
Goggles, safety glasses, face shields all made to protect your eyes. If you feel they are uncomfortable, just keep them on and you will soon adjust to it. The filmed version protects your eyes from too bright light and flying debris. When working with a chisel and hammer, i am confident that no particle will get into my eyes, and for that reason, i work fast and smart.

[3.] Hand protection:
It could be leather or plastic Gloves designed for various types of hazards. This one protects my hand, the yellow plastic at the neck of the chisel also dampens some vibrations, protecting my hands. It also has this mushroom cap over the chisel's neck that shilds my hands from the slipping hammer🔨.

[4.] Reflective jacket:
This is the yellow jacket I am wearing, the vests, coveralls or aprons, it has this strips that glows in the dark. It tells other workers that here is someone, visually signaling my position even in low visibility, is says i am here!

[5]. Foot protection:
Safety boots, shoes with toe caps are important as they protect my feet from falling objects and sharp objects like nails on the ground.

Depending on the day and nature of work i am assigned to, my personal protective equipment changes. Some times i need hearing protection, or a respiratory protection equipment like a nose mask in dusty places.

Key tips:

Choose the right personal protective equipment that matches the specific hazard.

Wear it correctly, following instructions of its manufacturer. Avoid distructive modifications.

As you use it, Inspect it regularly ensuring the personal protective equipment is in good condition

After some time you will have to maintain and replace some items of your personal protective equipment

Stay safe, and prioritize your protection! Your financial safety depends on it🛡️👍
