The Diary Game: 03/01/2026 | A Short Weekend Escape Before Returning to Work

It was the weekly holiday at my office, so I planned a short trip starting from the 1st of January to Parbatipur and Saidpur. First, I arrived in Parbatipur and took some rest. In the evening, I went to Saidpur by bike, which was a pleasant ride. Later that night, I spent some time walking around and exploring the area.

On Saturday morning, I woke up, freshened up, and had breakfast. The breakfast was khichuri with fried egg and fried potatoes, which tasted really good. After that, I went out for a short walk around the local market. The weather there was very cold, so I wore warm clothes before going outside. After roaming around the market, I returned to my brother’s house.

After lunch, I took some rest. In the afternoon, I went out with one of my friends. First, we met at the railway station. From there, we went to Chini Mosque. The beautiful and eye-catching design of the mosque really impressed us. We offered Maghrib prayer there and then walked toward the main market area. We enjoyed walking and chatting together for a long time.

Since we had walked a lot, we felt the need for some snacks. We went to Shah Hotel and had an evening snack there. We ate paratha, dal, sweets, and drank tea. After spending some more time chatting, we went to Saidpur railway station. At 8:00 PM, my friend left for Parbatipur by train.

After that, I went to my relative’s house, freshened up, and packed my bag. At 9:00 PM, I boarded the Nilshagor Express and started my journey back to Dhaka. When the train stopped at the next station, I met some of my friends again. It felt really good to meet them after a long time.

After finishing this short weekend trip, I will return to Dhaka and join my office again on the 4th. It was a refreshing and memorable short journey.
